My old SVD has been re-born a VSS.

Teflon on the bucking coming off, gun jams ever other shot now and the fps seems to have gone for shit.

pulled it all apart my bucking was only 1/2 on, back to the drawing board

went through the FPS guide

Took another stab at the Teflon on the hop up, little silicone grease on the outside of the bucking and it slide right on, zero issues.

Also tried to shim the inner barrel with a full sheet of paper.
No luck, I had a hard time getting 2-3 wraps of Teflon tape on each end to go in, but it did.

Bored out the cylinder head a little bit. (Easier to take little bits off then to much)

Teflon tape on the Nozzle and Cylinder head.

I did the piston test and my gun failed. (just slide right down, while i covered the nozzle with my finger)
Quick check wasn't the nozzle or cylinder.

Dont have the money for a piston head and not even sure if i could get one for my gun. SO Teflon tape it is.

Put Vika all back together and everything moved good (little smoother in fact)

This is the point i wish i had a crono.

Test fired 10-15 times, Nice snap to it now instead of a thug. Power is still good (blew through 3 layers of cardboard but not always 4)

teflon tape came off the piston, guess my rifle really does expand and contract a lot.

Can't you put on a bigger o-ring on the piston?
That way it might seal better.

piston actual dosent have a o-ring at all. it's a rubber stopper (sorta), the teflon tape on it came off, so i'm assuming the design allows for room on pull and not on push.

No worries, Vika is a M140 stock spring powered rifle.
(Personally I think AEG sniper rifles is almost cheating lol)

sad to say, Vika is dead. she blew up her hop-up and you cant get replacement KA hop-ups.

Next one is A&K, with a metal hop-up. just debating on getting the silencer adapter.
Anyone ever LBR a SVD?

I dont think it is possible to do an LRB on a SVD. From the 2 that I have had, and still have, both the CA SVD and E1 CSR outer barrels do not have enough space inside them to do that.

I have not owned any others but I am fairly sure they are more or less the same way.

it wouldn't be a true LBR SVD (then again i think SVD's are natural LBR's), a pic of what it would look like is on my name my gun thread.
i found the silencer adapter, best case, it would be a 6.01(inner) to the 6.03 extension. or to a tracer unit for night games.

With the mock suppressor on it you could for sure, but without it no. You must be putting a hell of a long barrel in that thing to pull that off.

SVD can take a 630mm and it wont even pop out the flash hider yet. SVD's also seem to have a larger cylinder then normal rifles.

SHE MIGHT LIVE. plasma's working on a custom hop-up unit, but the a&k stock svd hop-up might work because of the clip type it uses.
