Hi Guys

I just purchased a KJ Works M700. Anyway, I want to make it an HPA rifle eventually. What are the recommended upgrade parts you would purchase first?
Cheers to those who give me advice and help.

So what would be the difference in FPS between a tank that can hold 68ci 4500psi and a tank that can hold only 48ci 3000psi?
Would they be the same if both are set on the same pressure?
Would I need to turn the valve more on the 48ci 3000psi tank to get the same FPS as the bigger tank. So using more gas?
Would the higher PSI tank properly tuned be quieter than the lower PSI tank tuned?

Forgive me if these questions seem silly..
If you use a paintball tank regulator, the output from the tank is reduced to 800-900psi(Same as Co2).
Then you add another regulator to bring down the psi to your desired level(~80-120psi+).

You can also use SLP(Super low pressure) tank regulator, that brings down the psi to about 300psi.
And then you add another regulator to bring down the psi to your desired level(~80-120psi+).

So the tank size makes no difference, as the 3000 or 4500psi(In the tanks) will be reduced to ~80-120+psi.

Edit: The black thing in the top is the first regulator.

But I would recommend an SLP nozzle. I had an HPA nozzle, and I know it has a highe psi output, but I'm not sure how much. Well when I would set my reg to 110 psi, it would fluctuate by about 5-15 psi every shot because of the stress on the reg. So a paintball would most likely do the same thing.

That's not the stress on the reg, that's the springs not broken in. Most paintball regulators have a 1k+ shot break in point and you will experience fluctuations until that point.

SLP's were intended for specific Angel and Bob Long paintball markers who had built in regs that required a lower pressure tank. There was never any benefit for aftermarket regs which are built very solidly.

Really? Because my reg was fluctuating until I installed an SLP.
And what exactly is your setup??

Edit: Let me guess, you are using one of these aren't you. http://www.ampedairsoft.com/product_p/al-rig-slp.htm

If you are that explains EVERYTHING.

These were built for home shop compressors which have a low PSI anyway. They are pretty garbage overall. most of the p* users here that ran these had to replace theirs every 6-8 months. They got wise after a little bit and switched to a higher grade regulator.

Wow... Your magic. I bought the whole setup used and I had to change out everything but the reg and tank. Now I'll have to get a new reg. what reg would you suggest?
I'll get back to you on that after I do a little research.

Funny that I was writing up this exact topic to add to my Airsoft Gases and external rigs thread. Found Here: http://www.airsoftsniperforum.com/32-general-sniper-talk/9841-airsoft-gases-external-gas-rigs.html

I would really like to know what regulator to get too.
Currently I am looking at this setup:
KJW M700 Tanaka G&G King Arms Colt Kalashnikov Sig Sauer FN GSG [HOSE053] - $185.00 : Palmers Pursuit Shop, Where Custom Still Means Something
or
KJW M700 Macro Line Hose Kit [HOSE053M] - $175.00 : Palmers Pursuit Shop, Where Custom Still Means Something
Are they any good?
Also, what would be better, the macro line or the coil hose?

By the way I will be getting a HPA Tank, not CO2
The Palmers are fine. They are easy to maintain and can be rebuilt just as easy. Are they the best for HPA? No, there are better, but they will work just fine though especially after they are well broken in. For CO2 the Palmer regs (most notably the Stabilizer line) you will be hard pressed to find a better reg.

I would go with the coil hose, macro line is not that flexible. Macro line is more in tune for those using 12Gs in a stock pouch.

If you want a better reg it will require you to assemble a little bit.

I do not mind assembling. Can you send links as to what to get? Cheers

I just use macro line. Alot cheaper but a little more difficult.

Also more prone to fitting failure and tear outs, as well as having a lower PSI rating. While yes SOME fittings and macro line will handle up to 900 PSI, I generally avoid it. Ever have a fitting fail and and break one of your fingers?? Let me be the first to tell you how much that sucks... A whole lot of suck... Also had one fail while I was listening for any leaks, lost the hearing in my right ear for 2 weeks.

CP (Custom Products) makes a damn good reg. Like wise with the Dye Hyper3 and Bob Long.

Ninja makes some pretty awesome tank regulators, as well as Myth. The Dye Throttle tank reg is supposed to have the best airflow and most consistent pressure out of the tank.

The Ninja LPR and the Firebase (which I am pretty sure CP built for redline) are also solid. I have the Ninja LPR and its been a good reg for me. (I am not using that for its original purpose though.) Mind you both of those were built with p*s in mind.

Odds are extremely good that you will not even notice the differences between the Palmer, CP, and Dye while sniping. You might notice if you were using a p*, and have a lot of time and a compressor that will fill those tanks to learn the differences of each one.

Honestly the only way I can tell the differences is that the gun I have used them on I have been working on for over 9 years. I can rebuild that gun blindfolded, sound isolated, and with one hand behind my back. (most of it anyway, there is 1 body pin I need both hands for. Also its one of my paintball guns.)

Personally I say stick with the palmers with the coil hose, it will suit you just fine. If you are dead set and determined to build your own, I can put together a list for what I would do and go from there.

A what to do list with links would be good. If I do not end up using it I am sure that the list will be very useful to others.
There is a good chance I will use the list though.
Ok, I'll put one together. I will make 2 or 3. One for pure performance, a second for pure reliability, and a third for the middle ground.

That would be a big help to a lot of us. COOL

I am not done yet, but it's a starting place.

Hi guys

Just received my palmers regulator with a gauge macro line kit and co2 adapter. Put it together and there is a leak at one end of the macro line kit. Any suggestions?
Make sure the macroline is cut at a 90 degree angle.
Make sure the internal o-ring is intact.
Make sure that you pushed it in all the way until it won't budge at all.

I would recommend against macro line, Im buying this KJW M700 Tanaka G&G King Arms Colt Kalashnikov Sig Sauer FN GSG [HOSE053] - $185.00 : Palmers Pursuit Shop, Where Custom Still Means Something really soon because of what macro line has done to me...

Also 1tonne, any updates on your 700?
