L96 Springs

Looking to boost my rifle's fps up a bit, seeing as I want to join the big boy's club.

Been using a sp130 spring from laylax for awhile now, putting me out at about 400 fps. I am looking to get an extra boost for some increased range, as 400 fps can only get you so far.

Now the regulations at my field are max of 500 fps for bolt actions. I am looking for anything close to 500 fps. I have been eying this spring: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=6655

Airsoft gi states it will roll in at about 510 fps, but they said the sp130 spring from laylax would put me at about 430 fps, when indeed, it was max of 400 fps. So just asking if any of you have any experience with this spring, and have an estimate of what fps output it will give me. I have a feeling it will be about 30 fps less than what they state based on the sp130's results, but cannot be sure of this. Also, if you have any other recommendations within the STATES I am all ears. I have been searching for a PDI but they seem to be hiding now adays. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks fellas.

EDIT: I fail, I found some PDI springs on atlanta. ::)

Anyone have any experience with this particular spring or with one that will put me in the 475-490 range?

Whats the other internals?
Just cut it. Doesn't matter though now.

I don't have a chrono and need to be prepared for game day. I would like to not have to worry about that. But its an option and will do so if necessary.

And hidden, the internals are all laylax with an HP chamber. The cylinder itself is still stock though.
Yep I do, tested a crap load of them including the SS models. That SPR250 will get you to 470 with a .32 bb. With a .28 it should get you right where you want. My test rifle was a fully hopped up VSR all PDI.

If its 470 with a .32 than it will not be field legal. The limit is 500 fps, but we chrono with .2 gram bbs.

HA! That makes me laugh. Have you ever been to a field? You can't just throw in heavier bb's and you're set. You chrono with .20g's, always.
Laugh... why? He asked for experiences. All I was doing was relating my experience with the spring. If based on that you can determine it would not be feasible with a .20 then there you have it.
I must have misunderstood you... It seemed like you were saying to "throw in .20g's" and that will get you "right where you want". Meaning that, once you just used BB's lighter than .20g's, you would be set, which is not the case at all...

Sorry to disrupt the conversation like that, just curious.
This is a list that I put together for SP ratings if it helps:
SP130 = 445fps
SP140 = 480fps
SP150 = 510fps
SP160 = 545fps
SP170 = 581fps
SP180 = 615fps
SP190 = 650fps

You are most likely best to get a SP160 (if you can find one) and cut it down. The SP150 will do 510fps or there about but it will lose it's rigidity over a couple of months. Higher FPS springs often have thicker wire and so they last longer. Also since you would have to cut it down it would not be compressed as most springs are when in the cylinder and so it will last even longer.

Also VSR10 Laylax springs will fit in a Maruzen/WELL L96

Yes I am. Don't really make any new videos at moment, but plan on getting it going again in the future.

And thanks for the list Tonne, even though this was a good three years ago ;) Either way, good list to have rolling around the boards.
Yikes. It is an old thread. I never noticed that.
Anyway, I have been in the process of making a thread regarding springs: http://www.airsoftsniperforum.com/3...sing-right-spring-making-work.html#post127126
It has some info on there that a lot of people would not have thought of.
i'm looking for a 150 spring but i can't find one
