To answer your second question....

Out of the box, L96 for the fact that it comes stock with a 90 degree sear, and all of the 90 degree VSR10 systems are $150+

But once they both have 90* sears, I cant think of any advantages one might have over the other.

Thank you, thats what I was wondering, because the vsr10 sear seems dumb the way it is setup.

Well, the VSR10 is fine with a 45* system because in Japan, its limited to 330FPS, so you dont need a 90* system.

So how would putting an upgraded spring and piston effect it? And is there anyway to retrofit the l96 trigger, as in is it plausible/possible?

If you have a nice set of sear, like some PDI ones, you can run it on 500+FPS for a while, like I did. I would also get a better trigger sear as I have seen stock JG ones bend, and even one crack completely in two
