So, I sandwiched together a few 3/4'' sheets of foam and spent the past couple hours carving this out. Still needs a cheek piece to be carved and the trigger opening to be finished being dug out. Worth glassing over and putting something in it or just toss aside and consider as a fun experience?

Liked the look of Sako Finnfire's or Tikka Master Sporters. Mainly were I got the curves of this from.

How much glass would it take for it to be strong enough not to break in half?

Since it is the dense insulation foam, with the epoxy that is holding the sandwhich together, it's already strong enough as is to not break in half.

After some cloth and glass, it will be far more durable than any of the bondo jobs seen.

I say glass it. VSR or APS2 internals.

I don't like that much the bondo job..
But with glass I agree it will be pretty strong.

I think you should finish it off, and shove some APS-2 internals in there. Just hide the magwell with something along the lines of a door in the bottom.

Eh, I decided to just throw it away. I might make another based on actual measurements instead of, "Yea that looks about right" type work.

I would really like to see if I can make a Sako TRG stock for my TM L96.

Well I am going to be taking in the skins from a Tanaka AICS that I am getting here soon, into work with me and I am going to get the skins vacuum formed. So I can use them as a mold and see what I can't come up with.

We use many high density foams here at my shop, and I have been told that I can use some of it when needed. So this is going to give me a ton of ideas, as well as shapes to use. I am planning on using the plain L96 form, and then go from there
