Learning how to upgrade AEG internals?

I would like to learn how to upgrade/repair/clean an aeg gearbox. Can anyone point me in the right direction to start learning how to do this? For me, personally, the best way to learn is to do it hands on. So should I buy a gun like this:

and just study the internals and such? Maybe even try upgrading it once I get the hang of things?

Yes, I have a Kwa Km4 RIS at the moment. Im looking to get some hands on experience. Do you think I should maybe buy a CA and take it apart/put it together until I get the hang on things, at which point maybe I should attempt upgrading it? I realize that doing this is no small thing, I would just like to try something new.
