LOL....

Are we talking actual "sniper rifles" or rifles that could be?

Because my .22 was actually a sniper rifle back in WW2 ;) Was used by the russians in the ruins of St. Petersburg.

Do a search on russian .22 sniper rifle ;) And read up on the history of it.

A sniper rifle, even in real steel, isn't always about extreme distance. They have been made to be silent but EXTREMELY accurate. And from around 150 yards they can be extremely deadly.

Sorry to tell you this man ..... but if you do that to the rifle, you then have an illegal weapon ;)

Being as it is a select fire rifle, you need a special licence to own the "shooting" rifle. And any decent gunsmith will know this and tell you to take it out of his shop. And if he does do anything to the rifle to make it shoot...I would take it to the police and get rid of it.

You have a nice replica and keep it as it is ;)

I know some of them were modified to fire full auto ;)

That and being as it isn't registered through the BATF as a shooting rifle, then it is illegal if you do anything to it. And if it does in fact have a suppressor at the end, then again illegal as hell. I wouldn't even want to have pictures of it, or be associated with it.

Now you can have it registered through the BATF but it will take time and money to do, and to be honest...... it wont be worth it. Keep it as a wall hanger and leave it at that.

Yup there is already a thread about them ;) Though making them on your own with out the correct paperwork you are committing a felony ;)

I personally know as I am going through the process right now to get a suppressor.
