Because we can own large weapons..... so why not ;)

And that USO optic is very nice my good man. Been wanting to get one for my target rifle for a while now.
My dad got it for a steal; 1250 on EBay. Retails brand new for like 3000+. And the one we recieved looks and acts like its brand new :).

I pull the bullets and powder out of brass surplus cases, and reload them with 47 grains of Hodgdons Varget, topped of with either a 168 gr. Barnes Triple Shock, or a 165 gr. Nosler Ballistic tip for my Tigr. Three Antelope are currently in the freezer do to my "Baby". With either of those loads shes holding ~.64 inches at 300 yards, granted it is easier to be more consistant at that range with an 8x POSP than it is with the 4x.

I got this for my birthday from my spotter. It's a Yugo M76. It's dirty, rusted and the bolt is welded to the body so it can't be shot but it's beautiful.

The bolt was welded because this rifle was a trophy taken from Iraq a few years ago. I'm talking with a gun tech to see if it can be restored though.

*Edit: Just so it's known my friend who is a gunsmith came over and got a better look at the gun. From what he can tell the welds are to big and most likely did to much damage to the temper of the steel to make it fire again without spending more then what a new one would cost. I knew it was a long shot from the get go but had to find out for myself.

Sorry to tell you this man ..... but if you do that to the rifle, you then have an illegal weapon ;)

Being as it is a select fire rifle, you need a special licence to own the "shooting" rifle. And any decent gunsmith will know this and tell you to take it out of his shop. And if he does do anything to the rifle to make it shoot...I would take it to the police and get rid of it.

You have a nice replica and keep it as it is ;)

By select fire do you mean semi and safe? The M76 is a semi-auto rifle which is perfectly legal here.

Though it might not matter at all. The gunsmith I talked to said the heat from the welds might have damaged the temper of the steel so might not be able to shoot it safely without spend a ton of money to get it fixed.

I know some of them were modified to fire full auto ;)

That and being as it isn't registered through the BATF as a shooting rifle, then it is illegal if you do anything to it. And if it does in fact have a suppressor at the end, then again illegal as hell. I wouldn't even want to have pictures of it, or be associated with it.

Now you can have it registered through the BATF but it will take time and money to do, and to be honest...... it wont be worth it. Keep it as a wall hanger and leave it at that.

Ya like I said might not matter at all because of the cost. But it's something I'm looking into. If I do decide to do it (and it was a long shot to begin with) I won't be able to afford to do it for a long while. So for now I'm just going to clean it up and make it look pretty.

Just a heads up for everyone...silencers are not actually illegal to own. They simply require you to have a license. You can have one silencer per license, and can put it on any gun you own, provided the caliber is correct.

http://silencersarelegal.com/ - This is a good site to see if it is legal in your state.

Yup there is already a thread about them ;) Though making them on your own with out the correct paperwork you are committing a felony ;)

I personally know as I am going through the process right now to get a suppressor.

Quick picture out deer hunting in Texas just before sunset. Using some old farm equipment for a blind substitue over looking a wheat field ~250yrds away. Ended up with a nice bodied 8pt mule deer. Not worth mounting for a trophy, but got a good amount of meat from him after quartering him and cleaning him out.

Still waiting on my polymer stock to go with the handguards to get here. Got some more mags and a crate of some 7n1 coming my way too.
