Alright, I was wondering what type of range/accuracy I could get out of an upgraded CA G3? I was hoping that these upgrades would get me along the border of 400 fps but I do not know what range accurately this would get me? Also I figured I would need a new hop up, does anyone know where to get one for the G3?

I am figuring that would put me at ~150 dollars (shipping/getting someone to put it in as well). Would there be any other upgrades you would reccomend and would a higher fps be worth it, would it add anything more than a higher engament limit and a permanent semi automatic? Or would none of this even be worth it if I wanted to get some range/accuracy out a rifle and that I should just get a Maruzen APS2 and upgrade that even though I know that will cost me at the least 3 times more? I will eventually go for a bolt action but at the moment I think this will be better for me.

Now I know this does not make me a sniper, I have attempeted in the past and have not even came close to being a sniper yet for my team or on my own but im trying and this is just one of the first steps.

Here is what I did to my G3 series (M41 Offizier SAR) and I acheive 450 FPS with a .2g bb.

Madbull M120 Spring
Madbull 6.04 Tightbore
9.6v 3500 mAh battery
Reinforced gears
Aluminum Piston Head

I think there are a few other things in there, but the barrel you're going to get is really long, so I don't know if you'll like it. I would suggest a 509mm barrel, if not a 455mm would suffice.

As far as hop up goes, I shoot a stock (Soft) hop up. It has a few hickups here and there, but it's still more consistant (In my opinion) than a hard type. If you want a hard type hop up I suggest buying Tex's firefly bucking that he's selling (He wants $20ish for it I think).

I hope that helps, the G3 series is a good rifle to tweak into a semi-auto sniper rifle/DM rifle.

Now, with those upgrades would you get it to be permanent semi, and if so wouldnt you want to use.25s.

Depending on what your shooting you may even want to use .28-.30's. Just depends on what ya want........

If you're going with a 650mm tightbore, you're going to want an unported bore-up cylinder. Also, if you're shooting over 400 FPS, you're going to have to have full-auto permanently disabled.

Actually what I heard was that at 411 you had to change it to permanent semi-auto. That was from Tex, but I could be wrong. Also do silent piston heads make the gun a lot quieter or is it not that big of a defference.

Yes it is 411 FPS, but with a tightbore, bore up cylinder, and a M(SP)120 Spring, you'll be easily pushing that limit. Silent piston heads don't really make the gun that much quieter, it just changes the pitch of the gun.

As do aluminum piston heads, either way, go with the upgrades I listed you and you'll be alright, I shoot 450 FPS with a .2, and I put killer beez .28's through my rifle. I did use .3's for a while, but I leave that for the Maruzen now.

I had some reccomendations for these as well: Madbull tightbore, Modify piston, and piston head, PDI 170%, new cylinder and cylinder head, do you think they would do the same job?

I thought that a 6.01 is the tightest barrel one can get, but you need reeaaaallyyy consistent bbs. apparently they have proper rifling in them too.
