EDIT: i would also reccomend that for upgrades that you find a silencer and get a longer tightbore because the standard dosent reach out much farther than some G&G m16s
I don't know where you are getting your info from but sticking in a longer barrel will not, under any circumstances, increase your range more than a few feet, and only then because of the extra 25 or so fps it will generate :
The only way of getting good range and accuracy is to have a stable and consistent hop assembly coupled to a descent rubber and nub...period.
Which is why when this question was asked last week I gave a list of weapons with such a hop as standard, rather than the out dated 'I wantz an M4 so I can look all GI and for it to shoot like my mates VSR'....it'll never, ever, ever happen..... unless its an ICS or Systema.... or something that doesnt actualy look like an M4!
Back to the barrel issue....
It is widely accepted that the ideal length for an accurised weapon is upto 450mm long, and never more than 500mm, and that most AEGs fireing heavy ammo, at approximately 350/400fps, you should be aiming towards 360mm.
I'm not about to go into the physics/maths of it all, its just safe to say.... Longer/tighter/faster is not always better, and if you've been convinced on other forums that it is, then your just destined to an airsoft career of waisting cash and never seeing the full potential of your weapon
And if you dont believe me, take a better look round the tech section their is some tests that myself and a couple of the other regulars did where a standard 6.08 barrel out shot a 6.0something tightbore.... just a little something to think about next time your about to swap out a stock barrel for an uber expensive, knobs and whistles TB, before you've even put a battery in the gun :
