Ok, pretty straightforward question. What are your opinions on an M190 spring vs. an M170. Neither will break my gun, my internals are strong enough. I know I'll get more FPS with the M190 but how much accuracy will I be sacrificing. I have a nineball bucking in by the way.

I can pull my m190 easily :p But I agree with MGunner, its pointless to put a huge spring if your gun has airleaks. Bigger spring = Bigger leaks
Btw. if you fix all the leaks its possible to get the m170spring chrono over 190m/s ;) Mine has an m190 and it shoots at 225m/s

Anyway, I recently bought a WELL MB03. I'm a new sniper and I want to upgrade it a litle bit... cause I'm planning to buy an other sniper rifle in the future I would like to keep the budjet really low.

So does anyone know what I should buy first ? I need to be at the 500 to 550 fps range with .20 bbs. Is it good to start with a M170 spring ?

First go make an intro post. Second, check the dates of the last few posts. After you make an intro post, if you have a question, start a new thread.

I am an owner of a jg bar 10 , that is all upgraded with marui vsr10 parts. M170 with 0.2 is about 530 fps. I also tested m140 that it was about 480 fps. M170 is harder to pull than the m140 from prone. I will try M145 during this week and I will let you know my results. Maybe you can also use a small spacer on the spring guide. A spacer no longer than 8mm combined with my m170 spring shoots 560fps!

I have just finished with the instalation of an element m145 spring on my bar 10 with a small spacer on the spring guide. The results are 590 fps. As I said above with the m170 and the spacer I had about 560 fps....Any ideas?
It's a new spring, so higher FPS is expected until it wears down. I think a new element M170 clocks in at around 650 FPS.

Go with the M170 and fix all your airleaks. The M190 is impossible to pull while prone.
Really?
I can easily pull LL M190 spring in prone position, it's technic thing not the power of your arm.
And there was no airleaks with KMHEAD hopup - with custom made antiblowup ring (near to the air nozzle, end of rubber i sealed with fish line).

But, for example LL springs are so undurable. After first install of spring it were lost almost 5 cm in lenght, and fps in 5 to 9 first shoots were above 760 fps. Then it fell to about 680 fps, and they're the same till this day.

Range of rifle is nothing, without accuracy. And accuracy is basic thing of your rifle.
The major thing which decides about efficiency of your rifle is precision. To achieve accuracy you need to change barrel, hop up rubber and well assembled hopup unit. After finishing this steps you can thing about rising your fps, which decides about the range of your rifles.

Shove in an M130 Spring and R hop your gun. You don;t need that ridiculous amount of FPS.

on a 130% spring (Sp130's or m130's) I can achieve 500fps with a ~100% airseal.

My problem though, is using a 130 spring, the fps will decrease from 500fps to 400, due to the spring becoming weaker over time. Would I, therefore, be better off getting a 190spring, and chopping it down to 500fps? Would it maintain it's "elasticity" better?

Also, to those of you that don't know springs too well, the "130" means "130 percent of 1 joule".

For example, if we know 1joule can fire a .2gram bb at 328fps (or 100m/s as there are 3.28feet per meter), then a 130 spring will fire at 130% x 328fps = 426fps.

Of course, this depends greatly on your airseal: so if you are performing WORSE than this, you can improve your fps by improving your airseal.

The discussion for velocities over 550fps is indeed forbidden.
It's dangerous to shoot that hot! Have you seen what bbs can do to the human body?

I really don't find the need to go over 550fps, at the bbs go all over the place to anything over that!

check the dates . this is 3 months old.

No first rule should always be learn your field craft and safety first. Nothing worse than a noob being let loose with a 500fps rifle or some guy just standing far back because he has an upgraded gun and no field craft.

Play at lower power's for a year or so and if you still feel the need upgrade and it will make you a 10x better player.

Ive been playing for over 12 years and the only guys I know that have any field craft and make decent snipers all used low powered rifles, myself included. And didnt just upgrade to 500fps because they could.

In Russia it is allowed to have 650 FPS, if you respect two rules:
- dont shoot closer than 20 meters,
- dont shoot in automatic mode.
Yep, it rises the chances of trauma, but overall level of airsoft in Russia is more "advanced" and "tactical", than "run-and-fun" skirmishes in sites 300x300 m.
So we in Russia love some more "milsim reality", and dont afraid of traumas very much :) the matter is to choose your companions more precisely.

So, while this forum is an international scene, that would be useful to discuss questions "above 550" :)
