m4 project

Hello!
I am very interested in buying an m4 body and buying the small parts to make it function. I already have a full body set in mind (the G&P Magpul Type Metal Body for Marui M4) that includes a New Dust Cover Set, New Bolt Cover, Metal Hop-Up Set, Receiver Pin Set and a Forward Assist Knob.
What other parts do I need for it to fully work that way I can just insert my GB into it and have it working.

So far i know i need:
- Selector switch (do i need two, one for each side?)
- Mag catch
- Bolt catch (Now i found the normal paddle shaped one and an ICS one with a wire cover. What is that?)
- Is there a bolt catch spring?
- Charging handle
- Charging handle spring

That's all i got so far.
My goal is to have it in fully functioning mechanical order before placing in the GB.

Am I missing anything else?

Thanks! All help and advice is greatly appreciated!

Forward assist knob.
Are you buying the body or cnc machining it?

Ok you confused me there for a min when you said you were making. I notice you you edited your OP.

You'll need the fake bolt if it doesn't already come with one.
I can't remember what I bought when I got my last g&P body.

I believe it does. Does it look like a metal sheet in the shape of the outside of a bolt?
What about the other parts I had listed that I know aren't included with it (the bulleted list). Are those all necessary or am I missing anything other?
Thanks!

No your list is complete, save for receiver pins.Do you have those?

Yea i have those pins. But do i need two selector switches? Or only one (I've seen them with only one but on the other side there is a pin flushed with the body that also turns to show the guns fire mode on the other side)? Also does the bolt catch require a spring for it?
Thanks!

The bolt catch on g&P bodies just sits there. There is no pin or spring. It raddles around a bit too. I usually leave it off because of the rattling. Also you only use one selector switch set. The way v2 gearboxes are there is no way that the nub on the opposite side will move.

Actually if you can get a Dboys or Bravo PDW GB you can run selector switches on both sides. To make it work you will need the complete GB case, selector switches with gears, and special selector plate. The Dboys version is pretty descent,it even has 7mm bushings.
Thanks uller!
Also can anyone help me out with a barrel choice for the m4? On evike I am looking to get a 6.03 prometheus barrel. The barrels are 500mm for $76, the 509 for $84, and the 550mm for $70! The longer one is cheaper for some reason. Anyways should I just go with the 550mm one? Or get a shorter one? I heard if the inner barrel is too long that it will reduce the accuracy of the aeg.
Let me know what you think i should do.
Thanks!

Why not get a 363 barrel?
Well I am going to make it a single shot semi auto sniper rifle and I thought a longer inner barrel would be good for the sniper length layout.

Usually there's not much better performance past 455 and I'm getting fantastic with my stock 363

Guess what I just looked at the 363mm and it's $80! If the 550mm doesn't do anything to reduce the guns performance I think I am just going to get it since it's $10 less and I am on a tight budget. Hopefully someone will let me know if it's okay to do that.

Damn! I was planning on putting a Prometheus barrel in my M4. Sounds like I'm gonna be saving for a while...

Wow that's great! But I won't be able to order from anywhere else. Can anyone answer my question whether 550mm is too long!?!? I need to order soon.
Thanks!
