I recently bought a VSR secondhand with a Modelworks M40 stock, and it seems like there is space between the stock and the Hopup block, which causes the mag catch to "lift" instead of push to the side. Is it normal for there to be space between the stock and the Hopup block? I can send pictures later.

The Modelworks M40 stock has always had issues with mag catch fitment. I know mine did back in the day. Best option is probably to just switch to a hop up block that has it built in so it doesn’t rely on the stock for fitment.

Springer customs sells one. I ordered it but it got stuck in customs. Bout to order another.

edit certain well clones have a similar setup too. But you usually have to buy a full rifle to get one. Whichever one you get, you’ll need to remove the section where the mag button sits in the m40 stock.

This is what I use, just because it's usually available. One of the clone companies makes a better one, but you normally have to buy a full rifle to get it.
