Hey all, this is my first thread since joining and I'm hoping you guys can help me out. I have a question for anyone who has some experience with a TM MK23, is there anything different about the cut for a MK23 barrel over another barrel? I am planning on getting a longer PDI 6.01 tbb to put in the gun and through the silencer to increase fps and accuracy along with a new nineball bucking(for now ;)) Before I buy a longer barrel I want/need to know if there is a difference in cut between the MK23 barrel, and a longer barrel which would be a PDI 6.01 242mm barrel(Marui NP7A1). Thanks for any help you can give!

They take VSR-10 barrels. I also have a 303mm 6.01 PDI barrel that's only been used a couple times that I'd sell for $65. Just PM me if you're interested.

Also takes VSR hop rubbers (obviously perhaps but better to say than you order the wrong thing).

The G-Spec (303mm) should fit to the end of the silencer (but the silencer will need a little modding for the barrel to fit).

Alright, I did read that someone used a g-spec barrel but i added the stock barrel length and the silencer length and only got about 264mm so maybe the short distance from where the stock one ends to the silencer adapter through the silencer is enough. And I keep hearing different opinions on buckings. Firefly soft or a nineball? Also, would it be worth it? It wont fit in the plastic Socom case with it on and I'll have to find a holster that will let the silencer go through the bottom and always be careful not to bend it while crawling. Or is there a better method of carrying I haven't thought of besides holding it? Thanks for you help guys.

Definitely go with the Nineball (from what I've read). Also, I've read a good bit of stories where people have just stuck a nice G-Spec barrel and bucking in and got around 450 FPS with great range and accuracy. I've actually wanted to do this a while back, but didn't have the money or time to track down a TM MK23.

At 400+ FPS its more a primary anyway so I would just hold it. They are a paint to carry with the silencer on. Various methods really. Cross draw on the belt, on the belt at the back, in a large dump pouch at the back, shoulder holster or drop leg at the ways I have seen...

On UK site anything semi only between 350 and 450 is a 'DMR' usually with a 20m MED (some as low as 15, others as much as 30). BAR is up to 500.

I'd guess limits are slightly higher in the USA but basically anything powerful enough to need a MED is a 'DMR' I guess.

Some people put scopes on their pistol (or red dots) so thats another possibility.

Does any one know if the Y&P MK23 also takes VSR barrels and buckings?

I get 325 FPS on Abbey Predator Ultra Gas using the PDI 6.01mm TBB for the MK23 ie standard length).

You can pick up the ASG MK23 pistols that come with an inner barrel extension within the silencer for about £50. I don't know if it would attach to the TM thread. May be easier than installing a G-Spec barrel?

I tried the Nineball and Reaps A+ hop rubbers but they performed poorer than the TM rubber, so I'd stick with that.

I use a Strike Systems belt holster for my MK23 with the silencer poking through the bottom.

I'm looking to stick a G-Spec barrel into my MK23 to make a DMP. MER is only 10 meters at the main site I play so should be fun.

Do I need to drill out the barrel of the MK23 to get the inner barrel to stick out into the silencer? It doesn't look like there is enough space?

I've never R-hoped. But keep hearing about how good it is.

I've ordered a firefly hop rubber for it though. It's just about lifting .3s at the moment, but only just. Range is better with .25s but the accuracy is not as consistant.

I've only a standard gspec brass barrel in there and even with that it's impressive, to say the least.

I'm on the look out for an under/over rail mount to put an acog magnification sight on it. Hard to find!

I'm presuming a stock doesn't exist and would have to be a home made design?

Seeing how this thing fires makes me wonder, why doesn't someone design a gas sniper rifle based on the MK23 mechanism? It would be cheap and highly effective!

Yeah. It's made me wonder if having the barrel ported would make any difference in the sound or if it would make the accuracy worse if the air just bounced back into the barrel and caused turbulence.
