I have never had an issue ordering a can from over seas. I have ordered cans from Redwolf, WGC and Ehobby Asia. Ehobby Asia has the cheapest cans and Redwolf has the fastest shipping. I would have a hard time trying to justify buying a $20 can when shipping will be close to that. I'd get some other parts along with it to make the shipping worth while. You can get G&P M120 motors at Redwolf for $25 when they are $50 here, not to mention that everything is cheaper over there. I would get cans in the states but none of them come with foam. If they normally do the retailers take them out. I'm a big fan of G&P and King Arms cans, which can be found on all three sights but Redwolf might have the best selection for those two brands. I don't see the big taboo here. The only thing that comes to mind is that real AKs have 14mm lefty threads.

Did anyone see Inception? Just joking.

Tokyo model company offers free shipping from overseas! Gotta love that. The shipping does take forever though... But thanks for that link, bob, hopefully the shipping is pretty cheap and I'll order it there, otherwise, I think I'll get it from TMC, unless anyone has issues with that company.

Atlanta displays the most expensive shipping charge. Be sure to click on it and look at other shipping options, available for packages that fit in small flat rate boxes. I saved $5 a few days ago. Which is good considering the order was only $44.

So let me see the prices...

---------------------------------
$103.50 from TMC, free shipping, no tax
$150.98 from Airsoft Atlanta, with shipping, no tax
---------------------------------

So I'm spending around 50 bucks more to have it arrive faster? No, thanks. I also want the foam in the silencer, so I don't have to go hunting...

Redwolf is a good place to go, but I have heard that their shipping can be terrible since customs knows their packages and they have a habit of getting stopped for inspection. My friends G36 (now my G36 :) ) took 8 months to get here since it was stopped in SF Customs on the way.

I ordered from WGC shop a few times, good prices and good stock when its hard to get parts other places, but it took 6 weeks to get a gun from them. It went from HK, to Korea, to Anchorage, to Chichago, to Sacramento, to San Francisco, to Oakland and then back across the bay to me.... so yeah...

Usually I go to ASGI once every few months and just get the free shipping by throwing a few little things (shims, pouches etc.) unless there is something I really want from somewhere else.

If it's a common gun I've had luck with AEX having parts, atleast for VSRs and certian APS2 parts. As far as cans go its mainly a matter of finding the right adaptor and then putting any old can on there. I think AEX actually had a sale on that G&G can not to long ago. If you're ever on this side of the hill it'd be worth stopping by. Make sure to ask them if they have any more in back since the sometimes hide some stuff for some reason. That or theres a new place worth checking out called Dogtag airsoft, only 10 min drive from AEX in Santa Clara.

Yeah... When I'm over there I'll try AEX. Had my dad pick up 2 VSR mags on day... I even called it in ahead of time, and he still was all grumpy at all "the freaks in there"... so maybe I'll have to make a trip up there to check it out.

They don't like doing holds at that store unless you promise you are going to come in that day, even then, if its their last one they'll sell it out from under you if someone gets to it first. They have a lot more noobs there that are walking in with mommys credit card, so you get all sorts. I try to hit up Dogtag on my way there, those guys are a lot nicer and hook it up sometimes. There is also Alakden a little further south. Decent shop, they have other brands AEX doesn't (Echo1, Bravo, Madbull etc.), its run by phillipinos, so they are always down to talk and barter.

Oh, they were fine doing the hold... Just my dad was really grumpy for picking it up. So I better take a trip myself. I just held them so he wouldn't have to ask, and get half the order wrong, blah blah blah... I've heard of all those stores, just haven't got anyone to drive me, but I get my license in a few months, so maybe I'll take a trip.

Man the most I have ever spent on a silencer was twenty euro from airsoftpark. It came in like a week and it had free shipping. It wasn't like a can one either it was thick and of solid construction. It also said Navy Seals on it. I don't have to worry anything about silencers as I am in Ireland where they simpily don't care. But for everyone elses sake I will keep the silencer talk on the down low.

Surprisingly I order 2 mock devices at the same time and they both made it through customs. still had the foam rings in them. So my count is 3 foam filled mock mock mock mock suppressors making it through customs.

Ok, first of all you guys necro posted. Second, this thread was about buying fake cans off of internet sites for use as outer barrel extensions and if they would be stopped at customs.

So no, they will not be stopped at customs, you can get them here from most airsoft shops. The problems come when people start modifying them to actually function. These modifications are easy, but we try not to talk about them here because the legality of it, depending where you live, can be questionable.
