Well I am planning an msg90 build, but I am confused as to what to do for my flashider plans. I want to put the G&G m82 flashider on it, but that is threaded and the laylax msg90 kit's outer barrel is not.

I know someone in the gallery did this, can that person chime in?

My questions are:
1) Does the CA g3 sg1 have a threaded barrel? (Mine comes tommorow)
2) Is there any g3 outer barrel that I could buy that is threaded?
3) Any suggestions?

Thanks
- Maverick

No, the person that did that in the gallery was using a PSG-01. And you can buy a M82 flash hider for the PSG 1's. But it's not possible for any other class of rifle, unless you convert your G3 into a PSG-1. You can't do it. I've already looked into it, I just bought the HK-51 outer barrel, looks good enough for me.

Hate to break it to you but my M41FS didn't have a threaded outer barrel, the way they do it is that the flashhider just fits right over and then it's screwed into the outer barrel mount. There is no threads, which is why the only outer barrel you can get for the G3 is the HK-51. Which costs Doc I think $30 to get, so it's about $50 less than what Airsoft GI will ask. But yeah, I've looked into this before as I wanted that same exact flash hider, but alas.. It is unattainable for myself.

A major revival, I know, but signing on after many months there were a lot of questions regarding the MSG-90. Firstly, here are a couple of photos that show how far I went with the project before, unfortunately, trading the rifle.

As you would have realized by now, this is a standard Tokyo Marui G3 SG1 convert, and there are no real threads. These guns use that weird MP5 mount and grub screws on the barrel and G&G M82-style flash hider. And of course, if you're mechanically inclined you can fabricate your on threads if need be, but they are not required for the flash hider in question.

This rifle was a joy to build and watch progress. Should time and funds allow this year, I may build another from a CA base and go "all out".

If anyone has any questions regarding MSG-90s, feel free to email me at [email protected] and I will try to answer whatever questions you may have as best I can.

Welcome back to the boards, I'm sure you'll probably have a PM in there somewhere from me asking about the flashider, as I was going to put it on my Offizier, which looks very similar to what you have here.
