My 1st try at a DMR loadout

So I put this together for my next game. Like the album says...

DMR Loadout Pics

This is my first attempt at a DMR type loadout. NOT based on any actual military or armed forces type, this is strictly utilitarian. The combat shirt, for example, I am seriously considering replacing with a long sleeve OD Under Armor tactical shirt for wicking/ease of movement/comfort, especially if I use the Chameleon poncho during daytime Alabama summer games (read- 100 plus degrees).
So- the details:
PTS ACR DMR setup (450 FPS, Millet DMS-1 Optic)
JG Tanker (350 FPS, 11.v LiPO and ridiculous ROF) in scabbard as secondary. I have an H harness and battle belt, holding 2 extra M4 mags (or I can add 2 more for a total of 4 plus the 2 in the rifles), will run midcaps to be quiet. Condor OD Hydration carrier, small general use pouch for miscellaneous small items. Puxing 888 radio with earpiece/mike, ESS Thermal goggles with fan (as I can fog anything up without effort!), Proper surplus woodland pants, Tru Spec combat shirt (woodland), Condor OD multiwrap for face cover and german surplus bandanna in OD for headgear. Might replace that with UndrArmor heat gear OD hood, heard those are comfy in the heat. Hatch knee pads, black mechanix gloves (have some in woodland, but lost them by lending them out at a game). Have some woodland ones on order. Bates tactical boots. Like I said, utilitarian- water, comm, light ammo, common mags for both weapons, all engagement ranges covered. Chameleon Poncho, and I do have a chameleon rifle wrap (not shown).

I think that covers it. Might add optional items, like a pair of decent binoculars for scouting. So- the idea is a bit more stealth than the average rifleman, and can throw on or remove camo poncho quickly, throw it in my pouch if not needed, while being a bit lighter and more comfortable than a full ghillie suit sniper (even though nowhere near as concealable as one). Like I said, a good in between both worlds, I hope- like a Designated Marksman/Recon, I hope. Also considering changing the JG M4 (it is full metal, so HEAVY for it;s size) for a MP5 or G36C. Or a KWA KRISS Vector when they come out...;)

OK< so how bad is it for a noob to the stealthy approach...?

Looked at the rest of your pictures. Is your scope canted to one side?
No sir. It is actually off of my real steel Sabre Defence Competition AR-15. I do use a riser, which makes it easy to use even with big goggles on. It's a Millet DMS-1 scope, with 1-4x power. Pretty sweet optic, in my opinion.
How high is that riser? I'm trying to figure out if I need a 3/4" or 1"
I actually really like that set-up man! Don't know why but it gives off a russian feel to it which I don't normally go for but, It looks pretty dope! :shot:

Zero
I like it, but isn't that a lot of stuff? I have 6 mag pouches, an admin pouch, and a holster on my thigh, and that's it, besides the HPA/CO2 tank in the small of my back...
I also use the ESS profile turbofan and it's amazing, perhaps one of my best purchases! I use it all the time and has only fogged a couple of times and that because I was late to use the second speed of the fan!

Agree though that you're using too much stuff, why don't you use a pistol as a side arm? I'm using BASR and it has worked pretty well for me! You must consider that you can't take everyone out!!

Wolf
You might want some kind of wrap for the rifle, otherwise, 8 1/2! As I'm not fan of a big sidearm, and I have an itch that putting up a hide (poncho, big sidearm) might be slow. But it depends on where you play. As where I play, people tend to be (over)passive, but also quite stealthy, I rarely see anyone being easy to spot, unless it's 3v1 or so.
If youre going for the Designated Marksman role, why o'h why do you not use a DMR rifle.
M14, SR-25, XM110, H&K Sg1 etc. Are all used by marksmen around the world.
I like the Kit, but sorry just looks stupid with a ACR as DMR.
My 2 cents' 2/6...
People here are slow because they camp. Example: double blow the house down, I crawled into the enemy base, stood up and said game over without anyone actually killing anyone else.

The moral is, high speed loadouts are really great. Snipers aren't supposed to sprint around, but if you have the ability to do so, why not?

I actually kinda like the ACR as a DMR...

Same. I'm kind of sick of all the M4/M16 and SR25 and SR25 Carbines and their thousands of variants. Using the ACR is more unique. Only more unique thing I can think of is an AK DMR..

I like the loadout, keep it up.
I have to say, seeing a regular M4, with the normal handguard and using irons is still nice. Everyone has crap hanging off their M4, a normal one is nice to see every now and then.

True. Same with the M16 A2/A3. The A4 is a little funny looking.

Edit: Where di you get that M81 Combat shirt and for how much? I'd rather not spedn the $60 on the Tru-Spec one if there are nice replica's out there. I'd Kill for a Crye Precision one but those are MARSOC only AFAIK :(
Amped Airsoft has the truspec ones for $50, not much better though
Thanks for all the suggestions and feedback! Yikes, let's answer your questions as I go, folks...

1) Per one of my best friends, here's an example of an ACR being used as a DMR:
Here you go. There are in current service with Polish SF units apparently.

One of the rules of the scenario group that I play with is that a DMR setup has o at least be somewhat based on reality, hence the link. :)

2) I do have a KWA HK Tactical USP and holster if I really want to make things lighter. To be honest, I like the fact that I can use the same mags/ammo with both primary and secondary, and the M4 Tanker is a pretty nice, super fast ROF CQB weapon- even though it does weigh me down a bit. I'm a pretty big/strong guy though, so even with a full Hydration pack, this setup ain't too bad- we'll see once the heat is REALLY on! I might end up with the HK and side/thigh or belt holster!
3)The shirt I think I got from Airsoft Atlanta. I love those guys, super fast, great service. Was around $50 I believe and it is a Tru Spec.
4)Finland, will definitely wrap up the rifle, agreed!. :) And the optics are actually designed for a real steel DMR application. :)
5) We are required to carry serious hydration at the fields we play in, BTW- that's the only way to survive a game in the Deep South in summertime...

Another variation I was thinking, especially if I swap out the M4 and scabbard for a sidearm, is a small MOLLE pack or large pouch to carry the poncho in behind my back, out of sight until I find a place to setup/hide, and I can then throw it on. Think of a version of the old ALICE butt pouches, just large enough for me to scrunch up the poncho and zip it up in there.

Yet another possibility is, if Woogie does turn my Blaser into a SBR type Sniper rifle :D I could theoretically use the scabbard for it, and then have either the HK as a sidearm, or carry the small M4, and simply swap it and the Blaser SBR around in the scabbard as operation factors change. :)

Other ideas are the OD or Woodland gloves and/or knee pads, and a smaller throat mic PTT setup. I really need to thread the wires through the harness too, to get them out of the way.

Thanks for all the input, gents!

Is that so, MGunner? I bet I can do you one better than an AK DMR.

Please do.
G3 SG1?

PSG-1?

Bushmaster DMR?

My CAR-15 makes for an interesting DMR, with a ~300mm barrel...
Please do.
