Being that I am happy with my R700 and all I need is the suppressor, a sunshade and paint. I have to look into a new project. I was looking along the lines of a CYMA M14 or an A&K SR25. But my experience is lacking when it comes to AEGs.

Which one will perform better out of the box before upgrades? Effective range with minimal upgrades?

I have a CA M15 from 4 years ago and it has a blown fuse, messed up magwell, and a broken bucking. It lasted along time, will either of them last that long?

My spotter has the SR-25, and with no hopup at all, it has a range of around 150-ish feet with just a 6.01 mm barrel (.25 matrix bbs). It is blood thirsty.

I really want to do a TK setup in one of those, that would be insane. 200-210 feet on 330 fps with a .3... I have been trying to convince him, but he doesn't want to downgrade, he just wants a new gun. &%^#*%#!

The only problem with those, having no experience with gearboxes - so I was told, is that the gearbox is different, and the bucking is strange, and mostly just nothing on the gun is standard.

I am not trying to turn you off the SR-25, it is good unless you want to do tons of work and you don't know what you are doing, or you don't have anyone who can teach you. There have been successful DMRs built out of the SR-25, it is just a little harder.

On another note, use Tokyo Model Company and get TK barrel to put into whichever you get, just to test ;)

EDIT : Check the M110 construction thread - that is the same as an SR-25.

It is in the long range AEGs section.

I understand what your saying, but I don't really want to have any incompatibility issues if I have to replace some parts and I definitely don't want to buy custom made parts(I've had bad luck in that past). So I will be getting a CYMA M14 w/

Madbull 6.03 Barrel
Guarder V. 7 Upgrade Kit
Leapers 4x40 Scope
TM Hop Unit
Firefly hard bucking
SCS nub
and an M130 or 140

But these are just honestly dreams because for one, I don't have that money, I'm only 17. And two, these parts aren't ever in stock.

Wait. How hard does it shoot stock?

If it shoots under 350-370 or so, use this,

http://www.tokyo-model.com.hk/ecshop/goods.php?id=846

And the hopup parts you had originally. You may even want to downgrade the spring a bit.

This should get you about 200' effective range (8/10 torso), and will increase your durability because there is less stress on everything.

It will also save your wallet, the TK is 80 bucks, the hopup unit is 20-30 (guess), and the SCS is around 5-10 (guess). That is way cheaper than the other setup, at under $320 or so.

But I have heard that in airsoft the "Gyro Effect" decreases range because the caliber of BB is so small and light. But If you say that it will get 8/10 at 200 feet that is something I will have to invest in. I would also like the opinion of other people on TK too. Not to sound rude though.
