Hello airsofters,
I am hoping to begin upgrading a jg bar 10 (vsr 10 replica) as my base gun.
The only problem is that the only field that i live close to has a fps limit of 450 for spring rifles. Therefore, i need help to make an upgrade build that is awesome without going over the limit.

The big idea is that i want to try to match or get close to the performance quality you see in other vsr- 10 builds. I just need some ideas where to steer the build without breaking that fps limit.

any advice would be welcomed!
thanks

It will be with 0.2gm. That is pretty much the set standard is 0.2gm.

Action army hop unit, maple leaf bucking (decepticon), the best barrel you can afford (top 3 imo are laylax aka Prometheus, pdi and Edgi) and a new piston, spring guide and spring. Action army are good for the price as are airsoftpro. If you have the money though pdi edgi or laylax are the best options. If money is no object it may also be worth getting a 90 degree trigger set and accompanying piston but that's much less relevant that the rest mentioned.

FPS limits are normally stated as measured with .20g bbs. You cannot just choose which weight to chrono with, your gun must always remains bellow the limit when measured with .20s.

If 450FPS is your limit, a standard JG BAR-10 is definitely the best option.

Just toss in Action Army hop chamber, Maple leaf Autobot 70º bucking, ML concave nub ("hop tensioner for AEG") + ML Crazy Jet inner barrel, and your gun will outperform any other on the field.

As for the bb weight you must actually use, go with good quality .36g (BLS, Geoffs). If you chrono at 450FPS with .20s, the .36 will go out of the gun at about 340FPS, but they'll reach much farther.
