I would recommend a gas rifle - just make sure you get HPA. I am not experienced, so take this with a grain of salt, but my Tanaka has a trigger and bolt pull that is very similar to that of a real M700 (to me). Then, with HPA, they can be made very accurate and consistant. Just my $.02...
