Hey guys,
I found something very interesting in a facebook group. A new brand from Germany produces airsoft barrels that are looking pretty neat.

Hardened stainless steel and better tolerances than Edgi for about the same price.

Large Hopup window, perfect for R-hop.

No special extra porting blabla.. just pure quality.
I am very excited about that one.:pop:

Yes, I think that's pretty cool.

-Hardened stainless steel
-6.04 mm
-ER-Hop window with drop in ER-Hop
-hybrit compatibility

What do you want more?!

Sure, the price is little higher, but we build springers for more than 1000€ and the barrel is the base for range and accuracy.

I may be stickler for detail, but from the photos it doesn't look promising.

Edit: added pictures.
Exhibit A. Notice unevenness in hop window. Not talking about outer roughness

Exhibit B. End of the barrel is damaged inside, has some kind of score marks. Hard steel you say?

For that price it should shine bright from every angle and shipping should be included with a case of beverage of your choice.

I find some of their claims about tighter bores being less accurate and small crowns being better to be a bit dubious.

I'd like to see the testing they did to determine that, as many on this forum have found quite the opposite.

So you mean there is any other barrel on the market that is better? I will just drop a picture of the PDI barrels for comparison.
I personally think they look pretty awesome.

That picture of PDI barrels doesn't show the imperfections visible in the other pictures.

It does seem awesome, and their bucking especially seem like they have potential (although...40 durometer??)- but yeah those imperfections are a bit concerning. Need more pictures, including a good shot of the bore.

I have made a picture of my almost new PDI barrel. It is all about the lights and camera. You can see every slightly imperfection, you would not even notice with your eyes. That's not a quality issue of the airsoftphilosopher barrels I think. Just look at that PDI, which has been the best on the market for years.

I'm waiting on a custom receiver from Reliku and meanwhile I'm looking for the "perfect within imperfection" barrel (nothing is perfect so...) with no limit on budget. I was going for the PDI but I know through my experiment that porting improved but both testing barrels used weren't branded barrels. Crazy jet barrel crown looks like crap on all photos I came across... Long story short, I looked further into this barrel.
Now: It is designed in Germany, polished in Germany, with a cold forging technic patented in Germany. Meaning the most important parts, the honing and cold forging are not done in Germany. By omitting the source of the cold forged and honed barrel, meaning it does not come from any respectable place.

So some time has passed. Does anybody has some experience with airsoftphilosopher barrels and buckings?
I have not used them myself but have read comments from others.
Here is what I have learned:

-> Barrel window is too long to be used to to full effect in aa and vsr hop units.
-> The hopup chamber they make is not great and has frustrated people.
-> Performance is not better than an rhop or maple leaf bucking.
-> Not cost effective.

New barrels and buckings were just released. The first buckings had giant super sticky patches that were almost too big and caused fliers. I just got a new variant of their buckings in but have yet to test them. They seem better off of visual inspection, but that's all I can stay until next week when I install.

Their newer barrels are now stainless 304 and nothardened like the old, but should have a better finish and are easier and cheapero produce.

Tldr: old setup didn't work well, but they just revamped all their stuff so who knows.
