Hello,
I am thinking of getting a custom part machined. Specifically the main housing (not really sure what it's called) where the bolt slides in and out to cycle each shot.
Any ideas what material I should use? Stainless, Steel, Aluminum and also their designation?
Thanks!

I'm not sure what material would be best, but you should talk to madhellsing (he's on this forum). I'm sure he would be able to make it and recommend a material all for a better cost than taking it to a machinist.

I think the stock portion is just made of crappy zinc metal, but not positive.

Thanks Wesely for the reference!

The receiver? The part that has the scope on top of it? Your description was a tad fuzzy.

Steel would by fine. I would get it Duracoated after.
Ah yes. It is the receiver. It just slipped my mind when I wrote this post. But yes I agree to Duracoat it. Any specific steel I should use (aren't there different alloy types)?
