New Sniper and Rifle

Hey guys!

Im new to the sniper spot on a team and im trying to learn as much as I can. I read through all the tips players have posted on these forums and they helped a lot! If anyone has any tips (tactics, ghillie crafting, ect.) for a new sniper please let me know by a post or pm!

Im currently using our teams Mauser SR Pro Tactical rifle, the bucking on it was torn in half before I had a chance to use it, so its a little hard for me to take full advantage of the pros that come with being a sniper. So im forced to keep my G36C on me when a situation turns really bad.

Now to the reason Im making this post in this section.
Im looking into buying my own sniper rifle and I have done a ton of research, but due to the fact im new to these types of guns I have probally over looked something. My budget is roughly $200. I plan on spending $100 on the rifle and $100 on the upgrades.

Heres what Ive came up with:
Gun:
JG BAR-10 w/Bi-Pod
$110 evike.com Sniper-JG-BAR10-Std
I really like the look of this rifle, the reviews and upgrades for this gun seem outstanding!

Upgrades:
VSR 10 Angel Custom Piston & Trigger Sear Set
$40 evike.com AC-VSR-01
VSR 10 Angel Custom Spring Guide*
$25 evike.com AC-VSR-02
VSR 10 Angel Custom Adv Piston*
$45 evike.com AC-VSR-10
VSR 10 Angel Custom SP170 spring (480-550)*
$15 evike.com AC-VSR-SP170

*I may swap out the spring guide, piston, and spring for this Angel Custom tune up kit to cut down the price. (so my wife dosent kill me)
VSR 10 Angeul Custom SP150 Tune Up Kit
$50 evike.com AC-VSR10-KIT01

Other variations of inital upgrades include a sear set, spring, tightbore barrel, and bucking.
Im thinking of using 0.36 BBs for long range, and it will keep my fps down. (Our teams field is 500 fps limit for sniper rifles)

Any suggestions please let me know!

I understand PDI and Laylax have some of the highest grade parts around, but I can only sink in so much cash into airsoft right now. Any "budget brands" that are somewhat quality?
Start from the front and work to the back sort of thing?
I heard about R-Hop units, they made longer contact with the barrel, but sometimes you will need to drill an extra long window in your barrel. I could be wrong.
I have never done the teflon mod, but ill look it up. I want my fps to end up to 450-500ish, but the most important part is accuracy and range.
Have you heard of the Matrix Snow Wolf VSR 10? Its about the same price as JGs BAR-10.
I dont mind spending a little more than $200, i do prefer to get all my parts from evike. (20% off coupon this month) But if i can get better parts for good prices I dont mind ordering from more than one place.

Ill deff do all those DIY mods to increase consistancy and fps.

I dont plan on keeping my g36 on me when i get this new rifle. And for a new spring I know the sears are a must.

Okay, so lets recap.
Either RBucking, or Nineball Bucking
New barrel (promeitheus?)
New spring SP170 or a little lighter
New sears to hold up the spring
DIY mods (TDC + others)
Plus ammo and mags

Does that sound better? I feel like ill get more accuracy and range out of this build. And i can upgrade the piston and spring guide later as the gun gets more use. I just fear a strong spring will damage the stock piston and spring guide.
I was deff planning on a new sear set for the stronger spring, do they usually advertise if the set is 90 or 45 degs? Id like it to last, so the 90 deg sounds perfect.

As far as the barrels go ill deff keep that in mind. Prommy likes to have fancy colors and things, but youll pay for it. What size barrel do you reccomend? A 6.01?

And one more thing, the stock spring guide and piston will be okay under the pressure of such a strong spring? Im pretty worried about that.
So that .03 sounds much better, im looking for the range. Ill look up prices and brands ztrigs for the 90 deg sears. Id like to put a part in and make it last. Ill probally just get everything at once. Replace the barrel, bucking, sears, spring, spring guide, trigger, and piston all at once. I can talk the old lady into droppin 300 or less.

Id just like to get these upgrades once and not have to mess with t for awhile.
Wow the ztrig looks pretty expensive, I can get away with around $300 for everything. I'd deal with the 45 deg sears and have to replace them until I can afford a ztrig and 90 deg sears.

So I'll just go with all the other upgrades I mentioned. I'll wear down the stock sears and the newer sears a bit faster but I'll be able to have other parts through the gun upgraded so it should work great until I get the new trigger.

I do like the DIY mods such as stuffing the stock, and wrapping the piston. From the looks of those they can each up the fps a little in theyre own right or help you stay undetected. I will be doing these.

Unless I missed it (I'm on my phone) do you know if the Matrix Snow Wolf VSR-10 is worth getting instead of the JG BAR-10? They're both the same model so all theses upgraded parts will work. I've heard of Matrix in good and bad light, but I honestly don't know. the reason I ask is because they are both very similar in price. I'd just like to have the best stock parts I can get my hands on, in my price range of course. I plan on using the extra stock parts on my buddies gun.

I can only get away with spending around $300 because it's my bday, otherwise my wife would slaughter me!!!
Alright man, you have convinced me lol. You have been more than helpful with everything and I can't thank you enough.

There is one thing I'm not fully grasping, the RHop. I've read a lot about it and I have watched plenty of videos, I see how it works and how to install it but what material is everyone making these fitted pieces out of? Until I get a 100% confidence in installing a R Hop correctly, I'll just have to stick with a regular hop up bucking with an open window.

As for the barrel, the length is 430mm I believe. It's gonna be a 6.03, yet I have not decided on a brand, I'm still searching around for a decent price.

I won't be able to get all the upgrades I want at once, I'm still holding out for a ztrig set and setting up a RHop. But I'll just have something to look forward too!
Alright, well that RHop Im still going to learn more about. Now I know I dont have to make that piece it makes things a lot easier. But all the information you gave me helps, and from the looks of the RHop it can really increase accuracy much more than a regular bucking. For now im just gonna stick with the Nine Ball Bucking and Laylax 6.03 430mm barrel for some great accuracy.
Together plus shipping on those is gonna cost $102.43 from Redwolfairsoft.
By the way, that Laylax barrel is tough to find, its out of stock everywhere!! Luckily Redwolf had it in stock and slightly cheaper. =]

Other than that from Evike im grabbing the JG Bar-10 plus bi-pod($140), an extra magazine ($8), a sweet flash hider ($38), some 0.28g BBs ($10), and shipping ($21). Got my 20% off coupon in there (code is BIGGEREVIKE), it makes the total $179.03.

So all in all I spent $281.46 which is very close to what I was shooting for.
I was going to buy an Angel Custom Tune Up Kit, but I think I will go ahead and buy the more expensive better brand parts one at a time so I know the quality will be the best.
