New Sniper Help

Hello, I posted not too long ago but have researched a bit more. I still had a couple questions that I didn't really find a full answer for.

I am looking to get a base sniper with good externals (Decent quality, good design, adjustable stock.) and have been looking at the APS2 L96's, since most VSR's don't have adjustable stocks and the design of the AWP appeals to me much more. I also heard that "VSR's were never meant to be built above 1 joule and APS2 is better" which I don't really know why and couldn't really find an explanation. I bought an upgrade kit (piston, spring, and spring guide for my broken ASG M40A3 that was compatible with the MB01, 05, etc., and it would be nice if I could still use it. I was looking at the Well MB01, and the 5 other very similar L96s. (AGM, ASG, etc.) and was wondering which of those is the best, what upgrades I should get (besides the cylinder set) that don't cost too much. My overall budget is around 250-300. Thanks for any help.

The banter about the VSR system being designed for 1 joule is only half true. While the Tokyo Marui VSR 10 was designed to fit that bill, VSR clones like the JG BAR10 or Cyma VSR target higher energy markets. That being said, they will still require you to upgrade the triggers, as they are inadequate even for the stock spring. Both platforms will still require a bit of work. Your best friend with the VSR 10 will be customizability and cylinder volume. Even if your original stock isn't adjustable, you can always buy an aftermarket one that is. Why do you need an adjustable one, might I ask?

I just don't really like the style of the VSR, and would prefer to have an adjustable stock. I do like the Action Army T10, but even if I could find it in the US, it would be way to expensive.
The Marui VSR-10 has a weaker pot metal sear which, while not particularly bad at Japan law limit powers (~1J), doesn't fare well at 2J or higher and the bolt will be extremely difficult to push. This is why trigger upgrades are almost a must with VSRs (the Chinese copies like the JG has the same problem but are slightly more durable, though only barely).

The offbrands like the Action Army T10 and T11 fares better in terms of durability with better sears and stronger cylinders. If an adjustable stock is required you can probably buy the Maple Leaf stock that is a pseudo-M40 like design.

At 300 USD budget you probably can get an SSG10 and call it a day I guess, or a slight bit more and you can get an SSG96.
If you don't mind a little patience, you could also stick it out until Evike releases their attempt at a VSR come June. Looks like a heck of a deal.

I think he meant the APS made EMG Fieldcraft which I did make a review out of it.

I think it was me, I made a thread when I first saw it.
Look at Tenyoushoku's review on here, and you'll be able to find it in the new arrivals section of Evike
Best aps2/type96 is the well MB01 as it's all on spec.
The ASG AW .308 is mostly on spec and I plan to do a guide on upgrading it soon as it's available everywhere and isnt too much effort either.

Can't comment on the others but would personally avoid them as upgrade bases as don't know what spec they are.
