...but anyway, i was wondering about a good way to sight in my rifle, it seems more complex than a real rifle due to the hop up factor, should i set up my hop up independently beforehand? And if so, how might i go about doing that? Thanks in advance.

Mattaeus, It's really funny. Typical situation for new people who want to get most difficult and skills required role from start. Rifle, Scope, and Ghillie are tools not accessories. First you get skills and experience in the airsoft in general then it will be a time to choose you role. 8) Anyway, answering on your question: Set a target on 50 meters (letter size paper with some large dot in the center will be fine). Make some shots from secured prone position. Play with hop up set it to 0 and then add slowly until you will get the longest stable trajectory. You can mark hop handle position for future adjustments. Then zeroed your scope. And then practice to understand distance and trajectory relationship. Few things must be in mind: distance to target, target size, bb weight, and wind condition. If scope has zoom set it between X3 - X5 you will not need stronger zoom in airsoft. (actually it's less complicated than real rifle due to distance you shoot).
