I have been playing airsoft for a long time and Ive always had a good shot with a sniper rifle. I never would get decked out in a full ghillie suit or use a good enough gun because i felt i wasn't worthy. Now that Ive had practice, I want to know of a really good gun. either spring, or gas. I was looking at a m700. Yes i know there are other posts about guns, but i am not looking for an entry level gun.

You're completely correct, there are tons of other posts on "guns"...and the vast majority are about upgraded and high-quality rifles. Take a look at the threads on the different brands.

That aside, if you really want to get into the sniping game I wouldn't suggest an m700 gas rifle (the vsr-10's are also m700 models, but I doubt that's what you meant). Spring rifles are more consistent, even if only by a small amount. And consistency is what you're looking for. The Maruzen aps-2 or type 96 are both great rifles, but if you're new to high end rifles the bar-10 + upgrades is the way to go (I found this out the hard way).

That being said, I like the look of m40's and AW type 96's. Good luck finding a nice robust m40 stock, though

Essentially the same gun, just that the BAR 10 is built to price and will be a little higher powered than the TM version. On the other hand the build quality of the Marui will be better and you get a certain snob value to owning the real thing rather than its poorer sister ;) If your on a tight budget then get the BAR as with the money you save you can then buy some upgrades that will improve the longevity of your new rifle, especially if you plan to upgrade it in a major way :) All the relevant questions for both rifles have been covered in the VSR and the Others sections
