Newbie looking for advice

Well, I'm relatively new to airsoft, but as a paintballer I always found myself gravitating to sniping. Currently, as I am on an EXTREMELY low budget, I only have a JG/AGM Type96, and that honestly makes me sad...
I am looking to get into some of the good green gas/propane rifles out there, and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations that would cost ~$250 (I notice most people on the forum use pounds, so there may be some confusion there...) including upgrades if possible (Scope not necessary). Anyway, enlighten me, if you could.

Not with an air rig...

Without one it is like running a classic on GG or Propane, but with an external rig you can get some amazing consistency. Both my kokusais vary less than 2-3 fps per shot (semi for the CAR-15) at just about any operable pressure. Point simply being, you can get spring-like consistency with some work and an air rig on a gas rifle, or one with a gas bolt.
I would go first with the PDI hop chamber, Guarder Clear bucking and a Prometheus 6.03 steel barrel. Next, you want a Polar Star piston, Laylax Zero trigger, and then a spring and spring guide.
