So, I have a new pet-peeve, and I wonder if it is common or just this area. Generally I observe an inverse relationship between the money spent on gear and the quality of the player. At the acme, We can see players in very expensive gear, running the Clanciest rig to be found and claiming to be milsimers, but seem to have forgotten to simulate things like rising to challenge or adaptation to the enemy; and worse, this kind of player will quit the field after the first lost match.

I think this sort of limp-wristed player should be shunned, if for no other reason than being too unreliable to have on the team and too boring to have in opposition. While talking to a friend about this, we noticed they do dress up rather a bit for these events, and their camo is all clean and there are a lot of stylish glasses and hair product. It is as if they are playing the peacock, but there are typically no girls there.

Could that explain some of the conspicuous Real Man (tm) posturing that wants everyone to know the Real Man (tm) eats meat and goes home to have sex with his wife--in the vagina?

I don't see the point of the post, but I did laugh my ass off. I agree, there are some people who act like cool shit, spend way too much money on gear and guns.. and Then fail to be any good to anyone for anything on the field.

I hate it when that happens, but I especially hate it when I see someone really good but who doesn't have the money to get the good gear. I just can't stand it when there is some idiot with great gear but the guy who can use it properly doesn't have it.

Many, I don't think grasp or have not been exposed to the subtle art and organization of contemporary warfare. They are not getting any intrinsic value from planning, preparing, and executing with others. The common indications of this that I have observed:

When asked about about a course of action; "Lets just go and shoot em."
'I am cold/wet/tired, I have to go."
"Pistols Only!"
"My gun is not shooting right, I have to go."
Running out at a dead sprint from the release(start) point.
"I am low/out of ammo, I have to go."
Often over 15 RPS and moderate to well above the established FPS limits.
"There is no trail here, I have to go."
Not communicating at all or yelling as loud as possble.
"It is muddy here, I have to go."
Taking an eternity to get prepare and load magazines between games.
"It is too dark, I have to go - no wait I'll turn on my 200 lumen flashlight so I can see.
Has a box-mag.

As such, I think many of the uninitiated seek soloce in a arms race of weapons, uniforms, and equipment as their primary source of enjoyment. Nothing wrong with it, I just think they are depriving themselves off some of the best bits. And yes I agree, this whole thread is wildly inappropriate, snobish and without any social value, sorry-I have to go.

I see it more in the long-established players near me, which is most frustrating.

I was at a new op the other weekend, and it featured heavy mag restrictions, even for MGs. MGs had to reload from weighted ammo cans only. They only weighed about 3.8kilo, but people complained about the weight, and then tried to get around even using MGs to avoid carrying ammo.

Milsimers should know it is called a crew served weapon. I thought they would be happy at the chance to have to manage supplies in combat.
