Hey guys!!!

Some of you may remember me from a while ago (8 months or so). I was looking to get into a high end AEG DMR build and eventually decided to give up and just spend the money on things better needed in my life at the time. I essentially gave up on airsofting and havnt been around it or even thought about it for 6 months or more. Until now *BUH BUH BUH* (Dramatic music)

Anyway, I recently starting playing a little battlefield with my old airsoft buddy, and he is slowly getting me back into the game. And needless to say, I got the bug. I really want to get back out there in the thick forest, crawl around and do some just have a good time.

So here I am, back after a while and hope to get a bit of insight into what has changed and where I can go from here. I would like to get back out there with my own rifle, but I want to play a game or two before committing to a $250+ plus investment.

I was initially looking at a bolt action rifle simply because of money. but the more I think about it, the more I would like to stay in DMR territory. I know that building a DMR is FAR from cheap, but a decent stock performer(Typical to slightly better than typical AEG) and even better upgraded is what Im looking for. I have started looking at SR-25 variants (Damn M110 from BF has given me the love for that gun) and I would like to stay in that model. I like some of the other rifles out there, but I want something unique and futuristic looking.

Ive narrowed down to two different rifles, the JG SR-25 and A&K SR-25. I know they are far from the best out there, but the price is right where I want to be (Around 250 with both the rifle and scope). My biggest concern is the gearbox. This will be the first gearbox Ive broken into, but Ive done a lot of research and feel comfortable with it. Im just unsure weather the V2 in the JG is better for upgrades or the elongated V2 in the A&K is better. I dont want to do anything REALLY drastic, just some basic upgrades to have the gearbox running smoothly and consistent. As well as switching to semi only.

So any help, options or opinions are welcome. Just be kind and remember that im a returning noob with some major stoke for the game.

Stay classy my friends!

Welcome back..

Post this stuff to the Longrange AEGs section and the AEG guys will you. I recently got a G&G SR25 and I'd also like to read how to upgrade it.
As for your choice I've read good stuff about the A&K.

Im with Wolf, I just got a G&G GR-25 a few weeks ago, Im in loooooooove. Im looking at setting it up with a MOSFET, CNC hopup, M130 spring, high torque motor, and a Polycarb piston right now. I have to say I can hit my mailbox from 200 feet ~90% of the time with it right out of the box.
