Impressed.

270 fps average with a .3g BB (11 degrees in the UK, equates to about 1.07j) and shooting absolutely miles, in a straight line out of the box using Geoffs .3g. The biggest problem that I can see is it will be too hot for the UK on Nuprol 2.0 in the Spring, let alone the summer so I shall have to look for some less potent propellant. The trigger is fantastic for a BB gun, plenty of recoil but you can keep it firmly on target due to the weight and the fixed barrel aids accuracy tremendously.

What a machine.

Sorry for the irrelevant quote, I just wanted your attention. I remember seeing a couple of posts from you disliking some of Nov's red dots, saying they're just cheap chinesium rebrands. I'm looking to get a red dot and a couple of other things for the SSP5. I checked Nov's red dots out of curiosity. The one they're selling for SSP5 says that it's actually manufactured by Vector Optics, and that it's based on the Vector Optics Frenzy. It does look exactly identical with Frenzy too, just without Vector's markings.

Do you know if this "Red Dot Premium micro v3" one is the real deal or not? I'd like to believe they wouldn't make such claims if it wasn't, because not only would it damage their reputation, this kind of false marketing carries pretty hefty fines.

I have not tried them myself, but for the price of them it's simply a no go, when they are very likely the same $30 or $60 dot on Aliexpress, but sold for Sig Sauer type prices. Could likely be a Vector as they're around, but I'd wager there's a healthy markup on the thing unless you check on some ripoff place like eBay or Amazon. Novritsch stuff is for the most part re branded, re branded with his parts and touches, in house design like his soft gear, and just sold under it's original name sometimes. Nothing wrong with any of that, but skirting around all this does irritate me a lot, but no different from many other companies really. The situation on his site is becoming a one stop shop, but more of one for lazy or inexperienced people who may not know or care about how much they are over paying for certain things.

I'd just shop around on Aliexpress for something cheap or buy something like a Vortex where they will give you a new one every time it gets shot out or damaged, which is bound to happen with our uses. Vector also sounds an awful lot like Vortex, funny how those things go.

Genuine Vector Frenzys cost about exactly the same on Aliexpress. The few shops selling at below 100e had customer complaints in the reviews. Getting it from Nov would be around 15-20% cheaper than from local stores selling the same sight, but coming with Vector's branding. That's kind of the reason I'm asking.

As for Vector sounding like Vortex, yeah kinda. I get where you're coming from, and I know it's a thing. But this isn't one of those cases. Both companies started making sights in the mid 2000's. Vector makes actual real steel quality stuff as well. I'd get a Vortex for sure if the replacement worked in Europe as well. But I should find that out for myself; I've only seen this mentioned in multiple comments that this free replacement is basically "USA only" type of deal. I'll look into it. [e:] Sent an email to the local distributor, asking how the Vortex replacement policy works for them. But also.. reflex sights from Vortex go for over 300e from the local distributor, and you need to buy from them to get the international warranty.

I'll just shoot Nov an email and ask about the manufacturing directly. Sorry if this is hijacking the thread slightly, but honestly I think figuring this out is alright info here and it's the most recent Nov thread. There's bound to be people looking into this sight as they're getting SSP2, as it's directly being advertised to them.
