Hi all,

Has anyone had experience with the Novritsch brand 3-9x50mm "standard" scope?

Rifle Scope Set - Novritsch | USA

I am looking for a 3-9 magnification scope that has a mil-dot crosshair, and at $79 USD, thats the lowest price that I have seen for one.

Holy shit that's overpriced.
This scope is way way way way way way better, I got one like 8 years ago and have had it on one of my .22s that whole time and it's always done really well. It's super clear compared to everything else I've tried, about tied with a $200 Burris, $500 Nikon, and a little worse than some $700 Element scopes I sent to Australia for a member from here. Solid buy, I might actually get another since I thought it was discontinued.

I believe we had conversation about this years ago when I first joined:
I can't recall the conclusion made...but I believe at some point we established he was using pinty or cvlife rebranded scopes

I'm personally really a big fan of vortex because of their VIP warranty (still put a lens protector on, but peace of mind is worth it imo)

Yeah, his stuff looks like UTG/Cvlife so I'd assume they're so.
I've only seen Vortex in gun shops before and had little to say about some 2K LPVOs, but maybe their cheap ones are alright.
That $68 one I linked is a super kickass scope though, and definitely very well worth it to get

Fwiw I don't see any kind of link from you. Made the message a bit hard to understand at first, because for a moment I thought you were praising Nov's scope (yikes). Maybe a new anti-spam filter?

With that said, 3x-9x seems absolute overkill for airsoft. If you do want and have a need for one, the higher magnification will be for spotting purposes only -- and then I don't think you want to go with Nov's. The lens quality and clarity will be lacking. You can't have it all while being adjustable and cheap. Also, unless you plan on mounting a piggyback red dot, I'd just rather get something that allows for (close to) true 1x as well.

Also, big +1 for Vortex with the lifetime warranty from here. They actually mean it. They're cheap'ish while having relatively few downsides. Plus you can actually run them without bunch of covers for the optics, which makes the clarity pretty nice.

I have used all the way up to 9x for following my BB's at long range (for airsoft), up to ~300 feet, especially when trying to zero for extreme ranges. Yes, spotting is a good thing as well.

The Novritsch scope would be replacing a Field & Stream 3-9x 50 scope that I bought on sale for $39 in 2018. I specifically am looking for a Mildot, and the ability to adjust the elevation and windage without having to remove caps, or use tools. As far as glass clarity, yes, I expect the glass not to be perfect but what is the comparison scope, in which the clarity will be lacking?

As far as use of one magnification, the MED for DMR's in my area is between 70-100 feet, so I never really have had a problem with a 3x base magnification.

I am not looking to spend more than $100; have something better and it meets my needs, please let me know what it is.

Pretty much every feature of the Novritsch scope isnt similar to the product family that you have linked.

I have no idea about under $100 scopes. It's possible there's some good scopes in that category nowadays. Last time I did a deep dive there always seemed to be quite a few compromises, the worst of which is often poor eye relief or eye box. Which is expected for the price. What I do know is that Nov does not manufacture their scopes, and that they have to turn a profit while being a middleman. Nov's gear often has a rather decent markup. It just doesn't seem like Nov is the budget choice for that reason alone -- you can get the same scope for nearly half the price from elsewhere. But just to be clear, I do not know what manufacturer Nov is using for their rebrands. Also, have you checked if you can find them used?

I completely understand that having a reasonable budget is a key thing, and I'm not personally even selling anything. But you might want to consider resale value as well. Something like a Vortex scope will retain most of their value, and is significantly easier to sell if such a time comes. (Plus the obvious benefit of being able to use a good scope with generous eye relief, while not having to worry about it getting smashed.)

Well, here is the thing:

- I am not worried about resale

- I've had everything from a $30.00 Lancer Tactical CA443B 2x Prism Scope, to my $39 Field and Stream 3-9x scope get hit in the lens by gassed up HPA guns and not had problems, I am sure that some items are more fragile than others

- I have checked for used Novritsch scopes, no joy on that

-The benchmark for glass quality and eye relief are parallel to my current Field and Stream 3-9x, I am wanting the use of a mildot reticle, parallax and dioptric adjustment, and well as capless/toolless windage/elevation adjustments.
