This past weekend was BlackSheep Shelby. If you are unfamiliar, this is a 24hr scenario game at the Camp Shelby Army base in Mississippi held at their CACTF (Combined Arms Collective Training Facility).
The CACTF is a 14 acre site containing 35 individual buildings that include shelled buildings, condos, a mosque, a hotel and even a prison (complete with interrogation room). There are even underground tunnels connecting a number of the major structures.
This is truly one of the best AOs airsoft has to offer in the US.
But this isn't about the AO. This is about one of the best airsoft sniper shots I have seen to date . . . and the guy making it is too humble to publically claim it.
Around 9pm on Saturday (9hrs in to the game), callsign "Lunchbox" joined my squad as an attached sniper element and remained with us for the next 14hrs of the event. We found ourselves doing everything from breaching a condo to hiding in rafters and Lunchbox giving his best impression of a green caterpillar warming up (it was 33F that night) in the prison.
30mins before sunrise, we moved in to the mosque and Lunchbox took position on a second floor balcony. As the sun came up, Bravo (who had possession of the hotel) started coming up to the roof to warm up. With the confidence of a strong downtown occupation, how could they possibly take sniper fire, right?
At a confirmed distance of 433ft from a second floor balcony to the roof of a three story building (close to equal elevation given the terrain) some poor player from Bravo company took a sniper hit.
Who is this mysterious Lunchbox? Here on ASF we all call him careful.
