I have recently been looking into airgun target shooting competitions.

I read through the rules an apparently they allow 4-6mm spring and shoot at targets with a 1mm wide dot for the 10 ring.

If anyone has any info on the events or recommendations for a gas rifle and why I would appreciate it.

I'm thinking tanaka right now, but that is not set in stone. I am looking for accuracy not range. My APS2SV I use on the field would work, but I like the excuse to build another sniper, as well as wanting a gas rifle.

Thanks in advance,
Hackett

Yeah they are hosted by the NRA. A regulated gas system can be relatively consistant if the temps are consistant. wereas most of these competitions are indoors it shouldn't be a problem. I just don't want to use my field gun for this. I know this is a sniper forum so this may be a little seperate from this, but remember Charles Hathcock II started off as a marine corp long range target shooter champ before there were military trained snipers. And the term sniping comes from the challenging sport of snipe shooting.
And by all means understand I swear by spring power on the field.

Does anyone have any experience or advice about their gas rifles as far as accuracy/upgrades for such? Well, besides the obvious tightbore and what not.

My goal is to build a gun that can shoot a US Quarter at 100 feet.

Well I can do a regulated system off of the 3oz. CO2 bottles so I'm not worried about the FPS so much as the pin point consistant accuracy.

Thanks for all the info thus far everyone!
