I used to use silicon lube spray, but I feared it had petroleum in it. I started using white lithium grease a little while ago And it works great. I got it in a 10 oz weight tub thats going to last me years at the rate I'm using it. The problem with sprays is they sometimes have petroleum as the propellant which will disolve the delicate rubber bucking and o-rings.

The white lithium grease is used for airsoft specifically because it can be used on o-rings without a problem.

You want to keep your barrel as dry as possible. As for the white lithium grease and petroleum, I have a 10 oz eight tub of the stuff (not the spray), and on the side it says "contains petroleum oil (grease)." I tested it out on an old bucking I have that was ripped and should have been thrown away. Put the grease on half of it, kept the other half completely clean. After three weeks if being left alone I cleaned it off and compared the sides. They were completely identical. The petroleum oil in the white lithium grease did nothing to it. Now I use it on all my o-rings with no problem.
