I was going to post this in the gallery, but its more of a theoretical than pics at the moment. I am getting ready to paint my rifle in the next few days with the day or two I have off of work. I have all of the materials that I need and have been debating on a pattern.
Regardless of terrain/coloring I have noticed that people tend to do one of two things when they go all out painting their rifle. 1. they go with a camouflage pattern or 2. they go with a real leaf pattern.
I have read a lot on the various techniques of layering etc. but I am debating going with a combination of the two patterns while blending some of the techniques used in multicam.
For my specific area (grassland) I am thinking that I am going to go with a light base (tan), spray over that using grass and foliage as stencils with a darker color, fading into and out of the lighter base (like in the multicam base) and using an ivory and a light green (similarly to what is done in multicam but to a lesser extent) to add accents and depth. Here is a multicam pic for those of you that might be a little confused:
So what would you guys think of this concept? would it work? I may just try it to see how it turns out and I'll post some pics here or in the gallery by the end of the week (once I get done re-working my ghillie as well
