(Para)cord availability question
Hi guys,
so the question goes:
Where to buy at least 120 meters (about 400ft) of cord? Paracord would probably be the best bet. I need two colors OD and black minimum and they must be possible to be shipped all the way to Finland.
Why I ask this here?
Well because if there might be someone who'd know a store that might actually have the item in stock and would be that enough humane that would agree to ship here. All the shops I find are either:
A. Out of stock and no idea when we get more
B. Has too short cords only
C. Not willing to send out of say the States (or the country X where ever the shop is).
D. Is located in Finland so it has the "Sold in Finland" 2-4x value multiplier added to the price. (And at least one of A.-C.)
So I decided to ask here, surely someone knows a good place with a good, broad stock and is willing to sell for a paying customer from abroad. =)

Oh my how I feel smart now. :'D Gosh... But to be honest I did think about eBay but discarded it right after deciding it would take too long for my rather inpatient nature when it comes in waiting for a package. Guess I have to make me-self take the torment of waiting... Found a pretty good seller too:

Sounds promising at least. =) Hope they are not out of stock for 400ft each color (perfectly they sell both black and OD). I think that should be enough to make a total length of about 120cm of which I need approx. 85cm for the sling. It might be a bit tight to put head through but I dislike the idea of a long freely hanging sling.

I wonder that myself too but I guess it kinda figures since you need to do so many loops almost over each other to make it strong and to stay firm so... Most annoying thing is that I wont be able to start the actual making anytime soon since it seems that I need to buy the cord from abroad... all the way from states in worst case (no offense American comrades). =)wesley810 said:Oh, sweet. You don't even need to make 100ft to make that sling you know.

The sling is around 110cm and I was using 50m lengths, which when attached to the metal ring (mounting point) are halved.
For the wide version I think you use a little over double so you would be looking at 100m lengths. It was a bit trial an error though and am not 100% sure about the lengths.

The lengths I said in that post were from memory, I made the sling a little under a year ago but am pretty sure they are correct.
If I can find a little cord lying around I will make a new one or I will undo the one in the picture and get more accurate lengths for people, it doesn't take too long to do and is quite relaxing
Ok done, the old one was off the rifle and lying accross the room so just went for that.
I have to apologise my initial post is so far out I can hardly believe it
(I must be getting old)
The sling is made of 2 lengths of cord 7m long.
I must have been working with 10m lengths and cutting the extra off. this might be where 50m idea from (not sure though)
So sorry for the mis-information :-[ I will go and fix the post accordingly.

Dang this made my quest for cord so much easier. I can even choose my national stores services for such short lengths.So you have an 110cm long sling made out of two 7 meters long cords? How did you end the Wide Solomon Bar? That YouTube video does not cover the ending part of process.
I never got one of the wide ones to work with the cord I had available got close but not quite long enough for a sling.
I think you just end it in the same way as the thin bar but not sure

Started my own paracord sling operation this evening, gotta tell ya guys, MAN IT TAKES TIME! =D I'm handy from my fingers and yet it will take several more hours. (I'm doing that Wide Solomon Bar for total length of 85cm.) I'm still a bit confused on how to end it though... Well anyway when I eventually get it done I'll post some pics for you guys to see.
