My ears were burning
The lengths I said in that post were from memory, I made the sling a little under a year ago but am pretty sure they are correct.
If I can find a little cord lying around I will make a new one or I will undo the one in the picture and get more accurate lengths for people, it doesn't take too long to do and is quite relaxing

Ok done, the old one was off the rifle and lying accross the room so just went for that.
I have to apologise my initial post is so far out I can hardly believe it
(I must be getting old)
The sling is made of 2 lengths of cord 7m long.
I must have been working with 10m lengths and cutting the extra off. this might be where 50m idea from (not sure though)

I got some cord from here a few years back for making bracelets and using as bootlaces and it was really really nice:

I never got one of the wide ones to work with the cord I had available got close but not quite long enough for a sling.
I think you just end it in the same way as the thin bar but not sure
I will have a look around and see if I can find the answer for you tomorrow
