I'd go for the 1911.

Upsides:
-Comfortable to hold and aim
-Slim and pretty compact
-Fits well in most holsters

Downsides:
-Usually low ammo capacity per magazine (My old WE only held 10 rounds)
-The thinner magazines sometimes have problems with cool-down and don't hold a lot of gas

Mac11 is pretty bulky and hard to fit in holsters. You also run out of ammo pretty quickly if used in full auto.

I would suggest the Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa. It's got the 1911 feel, but thicker magazines with hold a ton of gas and ammo. I believe they are compatible with the WE Hi-Capa extended magazines, which you can get that hold 50 rounds. You also can't beat the Tokyo Marui hop-up.

^^^I agree.

I know the WE hop-up buckings and barrels are compatible with the TM parts, but the hop-up in nowhere near as good as a TM hop-up, which can't really be bought unless somebody is parting out a pistol.

I've heard decent things from the KJW pistols, but I'd be a bit worried about the quality of that "Cybergun" pistol or any clone really.

TM and KWA seem to be the best for sidearms. The TM MK23 has one of the best records as far as sniper sidearms go. It's a bit bulky, but it's super quiet, and can be upgraded with a TM G-Spec barrel and bucking for very nice power, range, and accuracy.

I would totally love a TM Mk23 but they are discontuined and very hard to find. Really you can put a sniper rifle length barrel in it and still manage to have it shoot?

Edit:Nevermind I found one.
Yeah, it has the same bucking and barrel cut as the VSR-10 series rifles. A 303mm G-Spec barrel perfectly fits through the suppressor to just about the tip. People have reported around 450+ FPS with this set-up and tons of range and accuracy. You could put a longer barrel in I suppose for shits and giggles but it would look pretty stupid haha.

You're right, these are starting to get harder to find, but sometimes you can find a good deal on a used one.
