Simple question, do you prefer the gas blowback pistols or non-blowbacks? And why?

I personally have the Umarex USP and it does its job reasonably well. I don't think I'm going to drop any more money for a GBB anytime soon, maybe other than a Glock I see no reason to.

I haven't seen another thread asking this question in advance, so if there is something similar to this, I apologize in advance.

I personally prefer GBBs even though the NBBs have better gas consumption and possibly better overall performance.
The slide racking back and forth is what I'm after, plus you find more GBB pistols than NBBs!

Very true, honestly I've been very tempted to buy a GBB, although as it is I don't even take the non-GBB when I head into games! I'm better off using the money for AEG upgrades, maybe a Contour camera to record games

NBB are probably better in gas consumption and noise level, but GBB are just so damn fun. After using a GBB, NBBs are kind of bland.

I'm with Wolfgeorge and Masterjuggler on this one! Lol
I love the blowback realism and action. As far as noise, chances are if you pull your pistol to use, you've already been made. I guess mainly I love them for the real feel mainly. Alot of the newer ones aren't so bad on gas with a little trigger control. Lol

For me its when someone happens upon my MED. This way I can take them out and "hopefully" remain concealed.

I carry both. I have my Glock on a belt holster just in case I need to go loud and throw some more plastic downrange. Otherwise, I have my Y&P MK23 on the inside pouch of my ghiillie to use when I need to be quiet.

Nbb. With less moving parts you get excellent accuracy, very good durability, low gas consumption, and low noise. For a sniper these all make nbb's a number 1 choice in my book. I recently switched over and have no plans to look back.

That will depend on the pistol. Think of it this way; a GBB is using more propane to rack the slide very fast, and the propane blast is escaping out the sides too. So not only is it louder, but the sound is going in all directions. A NBB isn't racking the slode, is only using enough propane to send the bb at the desired fps, and sound is only escaping out the front.

And if you use a silencer, and port it out/fill it with foam, it will actually perform exactly like it should on a real gun. My mk23 has a click sound when it fires without the suppressor, but it has more of a flattened low pitch sound with it on. It is impossible to hear if you are outside of a 10 foot radius. I had my girlfriend test it ad all she could hear was the bb bouncing off a tree or something that it hit at 10 feet.

Yea, I saw a video with a Tokyo Marui mk23 NBB with the suppressor filled with foam, and it was DEAD quiet. I was shocked, I didn't even know any type of gas pistol could sound that low.

This isn't the video I saw, but same concept:

I would love to get a NBB but they are surprisingly difficult to find, at least they are for me anyway. But I love my KWA M93R too much to not use it. I have spent tons of time customizing that gun. Now if only the MP9 would cooperate with me...
