Today I got a utg tune up kit for my Javelin/Snow Wolf m24. I put the new spring, steel spring guide, and steel piston in my cylinder. After firing one shot I noticed my bolt was not catching when i pulled it back. I was using stock sears but could they honestly strip after one shot? Could it be something else wrong here?

Isn't there some trigger problem UTG's are known for that can cause bolt latch problems? I'd say first case open it up and make sure the sear's aren't in backwards OR in the wrong way in general.

It could possibly be that they did strip, if you have used them before the upgrade. The stock sears aren't made of steel so something might have stripped. If you haven't upgraded the trigger assembly, it could be possible that the housing cracked or, though very unlikely, the spring may be too long when compressed for the sear to catch the piston. I'd say take it apart and see what you find out.

I've had a similar problem with my VSR, but I just stripped the trigger unit, greased everything and made sure everything was done up tight and reassembled it and it worked.

I started messing with the gun for a little bit and noticed that when I put it on safe it would lock and I had to push it forward with lots more effort. Also I noticed the piston seemed to be slowly grinding its way down the cylinder. Im going to lube the crap out of it and see if that helps.
