I currently use a M81 woodland pattern poncho, not as good as a ghillie, but still great at breaking up the outline. I am currently trying to track down a Sumpftarn poncho used by the German BGS though, by far the best pattern of camo I have ever seen

I have two ghillies that I made. I have the long jute/flight suit ghillie for thick brush fields. I also have a BDU ghillie that I made the jute strings shorter for DM role and less foliage. Same as what I did when I was in the Army.

I use a homemade ghillie made with a flight suit in woodland pattern to add a bit more camouflage to it and I used dyed burlap and strung it and attached it all to the flight suit works great

I would have used a flight suit for my ghillie but they are just so darn expensive near me. Next would have been BDU but I only have one and I was on a tight budget when I was making my ghillie and they were also close to flight suit cost. I ended up using old jeans, an old cotton jacket and a baseball cap. It turned out just as well as if I had used a BDU and I just spray painted the front camo. Use what you have, right?

Yeah, the environment is your worst enemy. Worse than enemy troops. How many of us have accidentally encountered an ant hill?
In Louisiana the ant bites swell up little "water bumps" anywhere one is bitten. Extremely painful. Like a 6.5 out of ten. Sorry for the rant.
