I would check the spring that attaches to the black part in the hop-up. Your spring might just be too short, or part of the spring could be in the crack of the hop-up. I had to replace my old spring with a cut pen spring that had more resistance.

I just used one of those Bic clickie pen springs.

Have you tried loading just a few BB's in the mag then loading those?
