Prometheus vs. Madbull Hop ups?

4427 Views 12 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Star_folder
I'm working on a DMR weapon and was wondering which chamber is the best.

GUN: Polarstar PR-15.

BARREL/Nub/BUCKING: Prommy Barrel, SCS Nub, Systema bucking.

Note: Is the stock VFC clear hop-up chamber okay for the build?

I have heard some people like the stock VFC clear chamber. But the only reason people don`t like it is because they are scared it will break. Don`t worry I don`t think it will. Your set-up seem good.
Just making sure. Did you get one of these yet.

I have the Modify chamber in my Kokusai, and it works really well.
Is it a easy chamber to set up?

And would it be a better combo than a Prommy neo chamber and Prommy barrel?
With the madbull chamber your pretty much limited to madbull hop ups.. and you'd need to make sure that it would fit with the P* engine, not that I doubt it would, but there is that odd chance.
Oh did not read the vs madbull hopup.
Ok my knowledge on the madbull.
You can only use madbull buckings. You might be able to squeeze some others in but that is a if. Personally madbull buckings aren`t that bad actually pretty good if you ask me.
The madbull chamber. (I`m going to abbreviate it mc.) has a bunch of orings.
If I am right. 1 on the feeding nozzle. 2 on the side nearest the gearbox and maybe one near the front.
This hop up chamber will increase your fps.
It has like a g36 turning wheel.
Also it comes out of box with the madbull blue bucking.
It is good as it will not turn itself.
You can add a tracer unit to it which is a pretty cool feature.
Should be able to use standard nubs. Like scs.
Personally I would say get this. The prommy might be good but look at the price.
Buy off of hobbytron.

It is pretty cheap and hobbytron is a 10 min drive from me.

Prommy neo has been ordered.
Ahh you didn`t buy the madbull after my speech. If you ever do. I would love a side to side comparison like the person who did it with the a&k and aftermath svd.
Yeah. Heard of compatability issues with the madbull in the VFC, so I got the NEO, it is supposed to be the best anyways.

I've got a Prometheus in my DMR at the moment, but I just ordered a Madbull chamber. So, I'll compare the two to the best of my ability and let you guys know which one is better.
How do you like the prommy as for a DMR hop?

It works as it should. However, I don't believe it's worth the price tag that it comes with. Yes, it is a nice chamber, however, I found the King Arms M4 Hop up chamber to be very comparable in every way, except that the outside of the Prometheus chamber was cleaner.

Both are very conventional when it comes to their hop systems. The Prometheus, as a default, does hold it's hop a little better than the KA chamber. However, as it is in a DMR, I still modified both to hold their hop even more so, almost to the point of needing pliers to adjust the hop up. The important thing about these two chambers, the Prometheus and the KA, is the c-clip. It locks into the barrel much better than other hop up chambers do. This is very key in stabilizing your inner barrel in an AEG. It gives you a good amount of barrel control.

The Prometheus is more of a bragging right at this point. If I had to do it over, I'd of kept the KA chamber and not wasted money on the Prometheus chamber. The numerous hop up modifications out there will make either one just as good as the other.
