I am probably going to get the KJW m9 soon-ish. I have an extra vsr bucking I was going to try to put in there once I get it anyway. It looks like that bucking you have is vsr cut, but like cheese I'm not completely sure.

Getting a little too far out of view. Just bringing it forward.

This really should be stickied so we don't have to keep bumping this up. Several people rexently have asked what to upgrade first and this is really helpful to them.

I know a rifle shooting 300fps will not be able to sling a .40g as far as my rifle shooting 500fps. Therefore I can get more range and accuracy.
Exactly. I hate when people say only noobs like high fps. It does more than get the bb to the target faster, which is also a plus in my opinion for AEGS because they will have more time to react at long distances when they hear the noise. But overall, I've learned so much from this! Thanks! Keep in the stickies!

Sorry for necro, but I just want to ask something :

My vsr-10 clone is running higher little at 450 fps ( I guess about 455-470, not sure ). I'm running 0.3g bio ( Goldenball ). I notice the range when I use 0.3g bb not different then 0.25g bb ( elipsce brand ). I guess it's problem with bucking (I'm using KJW M700 bucking ), handmade hop-up arm or too high fps. Do I need lower more FPS ( to 400FPS example ? ) for best range and accuracy ( Since I just want best accuracy and range, don't want FPS too high )

Sorry if I explain so long :p

edit: never mind, I got answered for myself. After cut five coils spring. The range increase even with 0.25g. more grouping and range. I love this topic xD

Just a question about the Laylax being better than the PDI barrel.
I know price doesn't always mean quality, but at airsoftatlanta a .03 Laylax barrel is only half the price of a .01 PDI.
Couldn't find any .01 Laylax, so i only got those two to compare.
If you ignore the whole budget thing (price is nothing when it comes to quality imo), which one would be "better" to get?

The difference is hardly noticeable. But if you decide on a pdi, I have a 430mm 6.01 for sale.
The pdi barrel is an AEG cut barrel so you need the proper hop up unit. The Laylax barrel is for standard vsr hop up units.

I'm curious as to the methods you guys used to downgrade the fps on your rifles to achieve the desired fps. I'm assuming it was just a weaker spring or simply heavier ammo.

How would you guys feel about making a longer air-break?

I figure I could decrease the fps by corking cylinder faster and quite the rifle. However, I strongly feel like the fps will vary dramatically +-15 per shot. I'm not sure if this experiment has been done before. I will try it soon but it would only be an accuracy test. My chrono is KIA.

not quite sure i understand the science behind that. Here is what I do know gravity is a constant downer and wind is an inconsistent variant, the slower the projectile the more time gravity and wind can adjust the impact of said projectile, by my previous statement would you not want a projectile as fast as you can sling it? the point being less time for wind and gravity to effect it.
