So I'm finally looking around for a new tightbore barrel for my Echo 1 m28 and I've decided to get an aeg 500mm+ and cut it to a vsr style and cut it down to the proper length for my gun (about 500mm). I'm looking at cutting aeg barrels to vsr style because its harder to find vsr barrels that are more than 430mm, non 6.01mm, and not extremely expensive(the most I want to spend on a barrel is about $70). Anyway right now im looking at getting either a Systema 6.04 or a MadBull 6.03 v2 barrel but I was wondering if the MadBull barrel coating would chip because of me cutting it. Suggestions for other barrels are also appreciated.

How do you plan on cutting it? The Madbull is made from aluminum, so (I believe) it shouldn't be too hard to cut. It's mainly the anodized coating that might be a problem. You should perhaps look into PCT barrels, made by Dwayne Dees at precisionairsoft.com. He does custom orders, and all of his barrels come with a "Universal cut," which means that it fits most hop up chambers, including both AEG and TM VSR hop up chambers (I believe).

Someone should confirm if this is correct. If anything, just shoot Dees an email. http://www.precisionairsoft.com/Articles.asp?ID=135 or contact Precision's customer service.

EDIT: actually, the product description confirms it. This is probably your ideal size, and within your price range:

However, it's not in stock as you can tell. Shoot them an email and they might be able to get you one.
