completely new to this, been using regular hop up for the last 3 years. I want all kinds of information, advantages, disadvantages, how to install, adjustability for different bb weights and just general info about the system, also I haven't seen videos of people r-hopping an unbridged barrel (vsr10), can it be done? and would an IR-hop be the better choice if I play in -20 centigrade sometimes?

thanks guys

LOL. And why would anyone play in -20C? Are you playing inside the fridge?
R hop makes sense if you can’t find a bucking you need, it’s a custom solution, not a miracle. Why do you think you need it?

PS I’ve installed r hop once on unbridged barrel but it was really difficult to make it not protrude at 0 setting into the barrel. I would not recommend doing that. I got much better results with autobot bucking.

I'm in Canada and i occasionally play in the winter:hehe:, I currently use a 60 degree autobot bucking and it's working well for what I use it for. I was just interested because I see more and more players at my field running r hop

I hope I don’t start the maple leaf vs r hop discussion again...
If you’re looking for information about r hop, google the following:
"r-Hop site:airsoftsniperforum.com"(for information on this forum).
The ir hop is the better choice for playing in cold environments.

I also occasionally play in the winter but never when it's much below 0. It's not about r hop but about the material the bucking is made of. For super cold weather something like a soft silicon tube will work for R hop patch material. The precision in its development process is the key.

Hi Stince, you guys play outside at -20C? That's NUTS!! (and I'm also in Canada). No, I can handle the cold alright, but don't you find frozen BB's a little nasty when they hit frozen skin? The other problem you might encounter is brittleness in the rifles. They're just not designed for that kind of cold. We'll play as low as 0C (32F) but that's pretty much the cutoff. Below that, things get unpredictable...hehehe
