Real sword svd or...

Hey guys,
So i am now looking for a semi auto only aeg for a dmr build. We are limited to 475 fps here, which is kinda a bummer. I am eying the real sword svd, but is is far to expensive at $750. The g&g sr25 looks very nice and is far more affordable. I know there are more optins, but these are two that i am looking at. Amy advice or suggestions?

Both are great... The RS SVD is very good out of the box but not the ultimate sniper rifle!
It's still needs some tweeking but overal is a great gun.
I had the dilema when I was choosing for a DMR gun, but I was between a G&P SR25 and the RS SVD, I've only handeled the G&P SR25 and it VERY nicely built I like it a lot and the guy who has it has upgraded to 500fps but not sure what he put in there.

I haven't looked into the sr25 gearbox mostly due to the elongated piston etc. Does that have the same inherit problem of front end cracking that plagues most v2 gearboxes?
Gearbox flaws would be the biggest thing if I were going to chose between the two.
Yup, same problem. Pistons are always a problem as well.
A piston spacer as on vindis thread would eliminate that problem and allow you to use normal v2 gears. Although at that point I would rather get a m4/m16 body with a std v2 gearbox which has more parts available.
It's really up to the OP though. I'm going to wait until he replies until I post anything else.
The g&g sr25 has a regular v2 gearbox, with a n elongated hop up unit, said to be very good. I personally like the sr25 looks better, the externals are really nice on both, with the rs being the obvious winner.i have heard that the sr25 only need a couple upgrades, as it has a thick gearbox shell, tightbore barrel, 7&8 mm bushings, good gears, but a dissapointing spring.

Edit- so i am decided on the sr25, and my upgrade list is as follows
Systema or prommy torque up gears
Systema torque up or g&p m160 motor
Systema m150
Deans plugs.
Any suggestion on buckings, mosfets, hop up nubs, etc.
Torque gears are useless... and those motors are terrible as well. Or at least the G&P is too expensive. Try SHS or JG gears for a cheap solution or drop a good chunk on SiegeTek gears that you'll never have to replace and a JG M42/M93 or a SHS or other ACM Neo-Torque motor instead.
Alright. Im guessing systema is overated then? ASGI reccomends pro installation on siegeteck gears. What ratio should i get, and are they that difficult? I happen to be a gearbox noob, so it worrys me that i would mess it up. Also i heard the g&p motor is the absolute best, but i will look into the acm.

If your taking your advice from ASGI you probably shouldn't be attempting this... just saying.
I figured as much. What ratio would you reccomend? There are some wierd ones that i have hever heard of, and it confuses me.
The lowest ratio siegetek gears in stock are 27s. The 20:1 ratio gears in stock are still for ROF setups.

LOL! I've had friends of mine run lower ratio gears than that on builds at similar to 450FPS at 30+ RPS. Anyway, the point is moot, as the majority of standard AEGs come with an 18:1 ratio gear set.
Nope its not. If you look on ASGI's website the 20:1 ratio gears are of a DSG design. Therefore ROF not FPS.
Why are you buying them from ASGI? They're cheaper direct from the source?

Perhaps because he made mention of ASGI.
I've never been really fond of ASGI's pricing on somethings, or their promotions... but they are a business after all.
