If reviving a dead thread is your only way of bringing it back up, then a Necro Post will be voided. But the rule on Necro Posting still remains, if a topic was answered and solved or discussed to death already, and a kid gets bored on the internet and reads a few pages and throws his two cents, not even looking at the date and decides to make a post there...

Why not lock instead of being kept open, or deleted?
