Sbr vsr * finally done? *

Well figured I would start a thread here to keep track of what is going to become of this rifle.

I received an unknown brand of VSR G-spec clone, though it does look really nice. I currently have the rifle apart and going through it to clean it up and take all the sharp edges out and what have you.

I have a tube that I am trimming down on my lathe to fit on the rifle as a barrel. It is currently maybe 50mm shorter than the original. I have a built in muzzle break on it as of right now, and am planning a few more things.

I don't have pics as of yet, but when I do you guys will be able to see them here :d

Wait Woogie u lost me. Are you saying this rifle has a barrel 50 mm shorter than the gspec or the regular bar/vsr10?

I am going yo make this thing as small as possible. Going to be keeping the weight down but accuracy at the max.

Hmm, I don't quite see what is the difference between this and the R-hop. It also looks like it would give MASSIVE overhop...

Yeah it may, but if you are using a heavy enough ammo you should be fine...and think about using a nub as well as a tdc.....may be able to sling .40's out there.

Well being as I have some time to work on this project, I have a few things already done.

I have cut off around 5 inches off of the outer barrel. I am still thinking about weather or not I am going to cut down the inner barrel, or keep it the 303 mm stock inner? I have also found an old scope and took her apart to get at the turrets. With a little modding and some work I am working on using it as a TDC

I then took my long surefire suppressor off of the M14 EBR, found a chunk of an M4 outer barrel. With some work, and some figuring I am going to attach the outer barrel inside the G-spec barrel, so I have the 14mm threaded portion for any number of "add on's"


My camera is dead so I have no pictures. I am charging it right now, so I should be able to get some pics here in a day or two.

Are you planning on using that strange r-hop looking thing? I can't see it being any better than an r-hop, if it even comes close in the first place. As for the barrel, just remember the cylinder to barrel volume ratios... because I don't. I think there was a thread somewhere about shorter barrels not giving reduced accuracy but I'm not sure how short it was talking about. I wouldn't go under 303mm because that's a pretty short barrel already and you also don't want the rifle too back heavy.

I remember cheese said he was going to remove part of the vsr10 g spec's barrel makng it even shorter. But then again, that's cheese man and he's pretty pro... never mind lol! That's this thread and woogie!

I have some pics up right now ...... Now mind you that it doesn't have the hop chamber or the inner barrel in it as well.

I also have an Acog that I have put on the rifle, but the eye relief sucks on it. So I may be putting an Eotech with a multiplier on it.....so if anyone has something like that they would like to trade for a few things let me know

I like it the only thing is ..... is that she is to heavy with the scope on it.

That and I am wanting something more compact if I can. So something for the stock may be in order.

I have iron sights on my Well mb-10 and I am just as accurate with them as I am with my scope on my bar10, forgetting about differences in groupings already. For ranges less that 300ft if you want it as compact as possible then you might want iron sights.

Well was able to do a little more work, as well as some work on a blaser that I am workind on

I was able to get the threaded barrel set into the barrel, as well as the hop adjuster set up. Should be able to finish her off tomorrow, aside from the few parts that I do have on order for it.

All I can say is that I am in love with JB-weld
