Can't decide if I need a scope or sidearm more. I have about $30 to spend plus $44 for my birthday, I was planning on maybe just a crosman spring pistol so I could still afford ammo, and just because the people I play with either have spring guns, or cheap AEGs.

What do you think would be more worth it?

It seems like you've made up your mind, but just in case I'll chime in as well. Pick yourself up a good 3X9 scope. Doesn't need to be anything crazy expensive, it just needs to get the job done.

A moto I should also live by (guilty)... Finish one thing before starting something new. Once you get your rifle working the way you want it, then work on your secondary.

If you barely ever use a sidear and normally go for the bang kills, then just go with the scope. I agree, get a 3-9 scope. you don't want it more than 40mm lens though, or people will see yor big black hole. Another word of advice, Mst people (including me) keep their scopes set to 4x, and only go to higher magnifications when dooing recon. When youre doing normal shooting yo want to be able to see a wide area so you don't miss anything but yo also want to be able to see up close to make accurate shots, and 4x zoom is a happy medium for most people.

I can't remember a time where I only had one proect going on. I like to take a break from one project when I get tired and move onto another one, then keep switching to keep my mind fresh. Right now I'm building a new ghillie, building a belt sander, learning how to carve wood to make a rifle stock for my bar10, and I'm making pouches for my battle belt. Slightly off topic, but I couldn't resist.

I too own a NC star scope and I used it a lot... Until I bought Woogies BSA scope... Mmm BSA....

Anyway, those NCstar scopes are just fine for any airsoft rifle. Affordable and effective, two things that usually don't go together in airsoft, but I'd highly recommend one.
